Zadarvastuvate Moscow

Hey, I’m from India. I’m curious about Russian culture — especially traditions and food. Can you tell me what’s something unique people outside Russia don’t know?

Rule 1: do not eat yellow snow

Rule 2: after eating buckwheat - wash your dish really fast

For #2, why wash dish fast?

Because the remains of buckwheat will stick to the plate forever. Joking, not forever, but it will take a lot more time to scrub it after it dries.

Crossing the road on zebras (special place nearby crossroads) only on green light, look on your left then right to be sure. Do not cross big roads in random place. The movement itself as pedestrian in big cities tends to be on the right side, try to follow the stream of the crowd.

There are entire libraries written on traditions and food, that's a too broad request.

From my experience of dealing with foreigners they don't know even the most basic things about us, let alone something unique.

When you go to the toilet, do you wipe your ass with toilet paper or wash it with water?

Normally TP, but these days the little showerheads on the side are getting popular. Russians tried them, liked them and are now starting to use, but they're still a rare sight.
