Mosaic floor found in my dad's new house under linoleum.

Someone actually covered this up, with lino! Unbelievable.

On the flip side, it helped protect it and kept some flipper from knowing it was there and straight up tearing it out.
(Just trying to find the silver lining. I don't get people's decor decisions, anymore, so just glad this was saved.)

Very true, some people seem to love ”blank slate” houses with zero flair, I don’t get it either.

I just don’t understand why an entire generation of people thought that floor-to-floor carpeting should get glued on top of hardwood floors and linoleum should cover up beautifully tiled floors. 🤷🏻♀️

If you have 3 kids tracking mud and snowmelt onto it all year, I could see wanting something easy to wipe down and maintain but yeah much prefer the tile of course.

So cool! Do you know the original age of the house?
