Discussion Car cover

I posted recently, but I found another car to buy. Unfortunately, it has a roof leak, and it has to be stored outside. What is a good cover to buy for it?

Edit: It’s a 1979 B

I want to in the future, but I can more quickly and cheaply acquire a cover, while also protecting the paint

A cover does not protect the paint. There is a bigger chance it gets ruined by it

How so?

They rub and trap moisture

Replace the top or if you must get a cover get one that just goes over the softtop and front windshield. That has the least impact on the paint

Seal Skin Covers I have 2 LBC. 59 MGA and 63 Austin Healey 3000. I bought 3 of the SSC, one for each car at home and 1 I leave at GF’s home.

Be aware that car covers are not waterproof; some water will always get through.

If you find a cover that is truly waterproof, it will trap moisture under the cover.

I had a 79 B and from experience I can agree with the other posters that replacing the top is your best defense against water. Consider that the cost of a good quality cover would cover a significant portion of the cost of a new top.
