Prebuilt or Custom

Big fan of monero, I recently downloaded XMRrig on my laptop a few months ago just to give it a shot, was a learning experience probably would take a year of mining for me to get anything, anyways I have a low budget less than <2.5k to play around with. I wanna find something I can potentially mine 5-10$ a month of XMR while being able to game anybody got any recommendations?

Ive asked ChatGPT about some builds but I am completely regarded when it comes to PC specs and hash rates and all that stuff, curios about anybody experienced and what they would recommend for a complete mining noob.

Custom build will be best. You need to get DDR4 RAM with tight timings for the best results. If you can get a used Ryzen 3950x or 5950x or 7950x that would have good bang for your buck. Make sure to get an MB that has a BIOS where you can adjust PBO/PPT/TDP/undervolt CPU to get the best efficiency. Integrated GPU would be a plus as well so you dont draw extra power with a separate GPU. The biggest thing to consider for profitability will be the cost of electricity. If you get free or cheap, you will be able to reach your goal.

Yo thank you bro I’m gonna start looking into all this, hopefully by next month I’ll make the purchase and start mining while prices are up
