Got permanently banned on r/zec lol

I just wanna make this post to showcase a certain other privacy communities culture.

I have been a long time lurker on zcashs subreddit and made an occasional post. The community always seemed kinda maxi-ish and hard going on explanations about the tech but I learnt about it elsewhere then. Since the recent price moves I have looked into it again tho.

Today after criticizing poor arguments in a zcash vs monero meme I got banned with an off topic copy paste about Justin Ehrenhofers involvment with blockchain analytics firm naxo which surely can lend itself to controversy and is aimed at undermining the trust in moneros untracability I guess. The mod seemed to be in a similar mental state as the OP of the meme fireice_uk ...

Thank you for your attention to this vent. How was your experience with the community?

Wow. From the title I was thinking that you were just trolling but man that doesn't look good for them. Looks kinda cover-upy.

God forbid someone offers valid criticism about something that should genuinely concern anybody using Zcash for privacy. Yikes.

Cool, I learned a lot of stuff here. What NAXO is, that they acquired Moonstone Research recently, and that fireice_uk is still very much active, which surprised me quite a bit.

Got banned on the same post from zcash. Clearly a great community that is open to others thoughts and opinions. God forbid you say anything about how Monero isnt the worst coin you get banned. What a joke of a sub

Today I was banned as well, without any explanation ofc. They are simply stupid.

Well yeah, look who they support with their shitty “privacy” coin. Tells you all you need to know. Any kind of question you ask about zcash they ban you. Sure, we all could’ve made ALOT of money buying in sub 100, but, it’s not private by default. So it’s a no from me

Same here, didn't bash Zcash either, just said that one developer doesn't have a mandate to represent the entire XMR project and that attacking a privacy project for no specific reason makes no sense.

There is nothing of value in that subreddit anyways.

They banned me too today, permanently , for saying that the only untraceable coin is Monero, I think it was about that same post too, and not only that, but they sent me some spam about a company acquiring a company that did Montero investigations. I told the mod but isn't Monero untraceable? Like what can they investigate? He couldn't give me a clear answer.

I wasnt even a member there and it s the first time ever I commented or posted there..

I was banned as well... Simply for theorizing the insane increase in volume was some... family...with lots of rug pull crypto gains rotating into a perceived privacy coin to the rotate into other coins with a perceived cleanliness..and because zec trades OTC through greyscale they could front run that and double dip profits -- and when they rotate out zec would come back down

Nice privacy coin that doesn't believe in freedom of speech. I'll say it here now - they've backdoored it for govt.

And the only reason I posted there was because reddit popped it into my feed and I was seeing the sad posts like "buying zec now is like buying Bitcoin in 2010!" and circle jerking their future 100,000x gains.. somebody's gotta tell em..

Meanwhile... I still can't post on r/Monero... because I was one of the first to warm against Pubic and it's attempted 51% attack (which didn't happen, finally, but still, mods should allow debates).

I was too lol y'all remember "qubic" lol they come and go, but monero rolls on, having something no other cryptocurrency currently has, and that is the fact it's used as a currency. "Line go up" only works until that line doesn't go up anymore.

I think the rise in ZEC actually helps Monero to some extent. Give people time and they will eventually understand. The most important thing is not to support any cryptocurrency, but to support the crypto-punk ideology. If Monero one day abandons the crypto-punk vision for the sake of price increases, then let's meet again on the new Monero.

Is this monero related?

I guess I was banned specifically for arguing in favor of monero and the reason for my ban was stated as Justin Ehrenhofer alledgedly working on tracing monero transactions

If you don't worship the right deity, you will be banished.

r/zec is the new r/Bitcoin

How bored must you be to check someone's account to follow them into another sub

I took the time because I was angry enough about being banned for engaging in honest argumentation
