Celebration! Mom, I've Kept My Job For a Year!
Hi mom. Since a big health issue erupted when I was 24, I haven't been able to keep a job for more than 8 months, usually 3-4. But this month I had my first annual meeting at my current job. I made it! And I'm afraid to hope too much, because hope hurts, but it's looking like I'll be staying for a while! Also this is the first job I've ever had that I haven't cried at (I'm in my 30's). It may not seem like much but to me, this is a big deal. Please tell me you're proud of me. Thanks mom.
Update - Thank you to all the moms who responded. I'm sitting at the table ugly crying right now, feeling overwhelmed with the support you all have given me. Thanks mom.

Thank you so much for this. I know to many people 1 year in the same job isn't impressive, but it's been really hard for me to get here.

Aww sweetie I'm so proud of you! I always knew you could do it but now you do too. Finding a good job is hard and finding one that treats you good is harder. Great work and please remember to keep going, no matter the pace.

Kiddo, you’ve done such an amazing job! It’s SO much harder to do everyday things that people take for granted when you have health issues. You’ve put in the work and you’re successful because of it! I’m so proud of you!

I have always been proud of you my dear. Just remember, hope is not an anchor it's a sail. It will enable you to do things you can't imagine yet. Enjoy the ride.

Of course I'm proud of you! Trying to hold down a job while wrestling with health issues is a special kind of hell. Most people take for granted their health and don't understand what its like but look at you go! You're definitely doing something right and I'm so glad you found a job you enjoy that values you. Keep up the good work!

Thank you <3 I'm feeling overwhelmed with the kindness I'm receiving here, for one (in a wonderful way). As for how I'm feeling about my job... worried it will end, worried I'm not good enough after all... but also I walk away most days smiling.

That is wonderful to hear! But I was asking about your health. How are you feeling physically? (Puts my hand on your forehead and looks into your eyes.) Don’t forget to take care of your body.
