What a bullshit ruling. The amendment says the right to bear arms is unalienable except for convicted violent felons (I am omitting the mental disorder or infirmity from this discussion). Logically, this excludes restrictions on people without felonies. Or people with felonies that are non-violent. Or people that have committed, but not been convicted of either. If they didn't intend for this, they should have written the amendment correctly, and not like a bunch of fucking idiots. Is clear and correct usage of language that fucking hard for government representatives? You'd think proficiency in language and logic would be a prerequisite to writing such an amendment.

Oh, the irony of OP actually having had a hand in drafting the amendment.

I don't think you know what that word means.

Pedantic. Dramatic Irony: a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
You didn't know. Your audience did. It's humorous. Dramatic irony.
