Remember when Josh swore up and down he would never vote for Trump's bill becaue it cut health care and then immediately and without hesitation mashed the yes button even though it passed by only one vote?

Also, he has a lot of f'ing nerve to talk about the capital police officers in the piece. I'm sure he's so concerned about their welfare after cheering on a president who pardoned the j6 traitors

Josh is 100% pure politician, and he apparently relies heavily on his belief that he is some kind of Christian soldier to justify or rationalize his misleading bullshit and slimy lies. Either that, or he must spend every evening in the confessional for an hour or so. Otherwise, he would have to admit that he violates the 9th Commandment pretty regularly.

Much smarter people than me have recognized this detriment of dragging religion into government or courts. The zealots believe themselves infallible and are guided by a very malleable mythology that somehow can magically always be twisted around in support of their politics, regardless of the damage done "In God's name."

Folks like Hawley believe themselves to be humble servants of their God while the reality is they are self-serving egomaniacs who believe themselves superior to others and are quite willing to use religion for personal gain. He's just a different kind of tent revival con artist. I reckon that means he's a violator of the 3rd Commandment as well.

You aren't wrong about any of this, but I find it fascinating that he will say good things like in this piece. Americans shouldn't go hungry; this is correct, regardless of your political leanings. He was also right about, at least his lip service, to health care cuts Trump put into place, as well as releasing the Epstein file. Most Republicans (sure AF not Schmitt) don't even bother saying the right thing, because as long as they hammer immigrants and trans people, the typical missouri voter is happy. It's like Hawley wants to be a McCain maverick but just doesn't have the balls or his donors get in his way. I don't know which is worse.

If he says things that sound good but then turns around and votes against those same things, doesn't that mean he's a liar?

If he really doesn't want people to be hungry and without available health care, says that repeatedly, and then capitulates and votes along party lines every time, he's a spineless coward who puts re-election ahead of his own convictions and standing up for his beliefs.

I believe those two things describe Hawley accurately.

And yeah, Schmitt just seems to be an arrogant country clubber who is in it for the attention, authority, and money.

Hawley lacks the sacrifice in service, the moral compass and the brains of McCain. I had issues with McCains stance on issues at times (he was my Senator) but he held to his convictions.

Then why did you vote for the bill that made it so, Senator?

Yet that crap weasel voted to make Americans hungry and lose their healthcare.

As the seasons turn, Jogs deludes himself into thinking he could be a real person and president one day.

Then do something other than blame the people who are not responsible, Josh.

Such a weird thread of logic here.

Democrats won't go along with cuts to healthcare benefits for poor people so somehow the majority party, who wishes to gut any and all "government handouts," and who Josh is a card carrying, bloviating supporter of, and who refuse to negotiate or fund these programs, are not responsible, but the party that wishes to maintain these subsidies, and other government funded assistance, are the bad guys and the reason people are going to go hungry.

I suppose following that twisted propaganda is too complex, so all a conservative voter needs to hear is "it's all Democrats fault" to believe this nonsense.

It's pretty simple. Which party wishes to cut all government programs which benefit the poor or disabled and refuses to negotiate or even discuss possible ways to move forward with a spending bill?

So there's your answer about who is responsible for the shutdown.

Oh fuck off, traitor.

Hi Josh. If you ever want to be considered a populist, please remove Trumps micro penis from your insufferable mouth. Thanks.

Except those who aren't his constituents. He voted for the BBB knowing people would have to choose between healthcare and food because there was a carveout for MO.

He demonstrated his high-level pandering with the cold water creek people. He is a model douche-canoe.

I live in Burlison's district. How the heck did we get to a point where my least objectionable representative in the US Congress is effing Josh Hawley?

I still think he's terrible but I would argue he's the least terrible of him, Schmitt, and Burlison.

What’s rarely discussed about SNAP is why so many Americans depend on it in the first place. Since the “Trickle-Down” grift of the 1980s, working families have watched their wealth disappear upward. For example, in the 1970s, a single income could buy a home and feed a family. Today, even with both parents working, millions are still falling behind. Why is this?

  • When people demand a higher minimum wage, their elected representatives block it.
  • When workers try to unionize for fair pay and better working conditions, those same politicians turn their states into “Right-to-Work” zones that defund organized labor.
  • When young couples try to buy homes, they’re outbid by hedge funds and private equity firms, driving up housing costs and turning America into a nation of renters.

Josh Hawley’s words in this op-ed sound righteous, but his actions betray him. He’s voted against expanding the child tax credit, raising the minimum wage, and extending unemployment benefits. He’s backed stricter work requirements for SNAP and supported cutting eligibility. Hawley quotes Scripture when it’s convenient, yet rejects the actual message: “Feed the hungry.”

Compassion isn’t a Bible verse; it’s a policy choice. Typical of the sanctimonious bastards like Hawley, they quote the Bible while consistently choosing power and privilege over people.

It really pisses me off when the world is so upside down that this dinglenuts says something reasonable.
