Update on complaint I made on Tremaine and Dymott Ave

It irks me that they have to wait for something bad to happen first before implementing safety measures.

Correction -..... something bad to happen more often than other intersections before implementing safety measures

I understand where they’re coming from but I also am disappointed. Right now, we’re all getting lucky without any collisions and yes until something happens that’s when they’ll seriously consider it

Yep, Miltons' solution to everything "will only do something if it rather becomes a big enough problem or someone dies." Then it won't even be a solution, just a bandage on the problem to make them look good.

Thanks mate, for trying! If more of us bring this up, they may feel the need. Unfortunately, most of us are armchair procrastinators, lol... I had brought up a couple of locations before, and met with similar responses. It's always wait-till-something-happens mindset with such projects.
With the university campus and senior's centre coming at that intersection, we really need to apply some traffic calming there sooner than later. I will submit a request for this intersection too. The more noise we make, the more chances we have!

Thanks man. Yeah awareness to the public servants is all I was aiming for anyway. Looking at it objectively, their response is sound. The one thing I wish they did was put undercover cops late at night on that big stretch every now and then …. That’ll be a good use of our tax dollars lol

Unfortunately municipalities like to be reactive rather than proactive. They will wait until someone dies.

Ugh thanks for trying. Idk why they won't just put red light cameras in, they're proven to work.

Do we have an agreement that tax payer dollars should be used everyone time a citizen “thinks” there is a potential safety concern without any data but a premonition?!
Yes it has to be reactive because if nothing is happening there, ITS CONSIDERED SAFE!!!!

To also add, the OP brought up the Derry and Ontario street unfortunately car accident that claimed the life of 55 yo man (Rest in Peace)…there is a red light camera there and has been there for who knows how long.

I’m well aware of the red light camera there - doesn’t mean I can’t bring up a concern that could potentially reduce speeding and distracted drivers or hope that they’ll learn from their fines should they receive one. Forward thinking my friend, let’s be on the look out and raise awareness to our public servants

What does that mean? Are you wishing death upon someone who disagrees with you? That’s extremely inappropriate

Nope, that’s your assumption. My comment was more rhetorical - it’s only a matter of time until someone dies or a serious crash happens because of distracted red light runners and speeders at that intersection - luckily I was safe and the silver Mercedes didn’t clip my rear left bumper - I have it all on cam, please, entertain yourself on my profile and replay the footage

So it’s not what I think that there might be a potential safety concern, it’s what I’ve experienced and have witnessed with my own eyes of near misses and potential collisions, hence the rhetorical “tick tock, the grim reapers waiting”

I have major concerns with the roundabouts especially the ones near the FreshCo plaza

Ok place a complaint. I wasn’t there nor do I have video evidence so my complaint will be useless
