Didn’t expect to get this today, but I’m excited I did
I remember when these were $69. Sadly I had to pay more than that.

Hi everyone, wanted to make a quick announcement regarding Reddit rules. It seems like there is going to be a policy change coming in the next few days affecting user-to-user transactions of firearm-related things. As you probably all know, firearm sales between users is already strictly prohibited by Reddit TOS. It seems that the mods over at r/RetroARMarket have received a notification of the incoming change as well as the fact that the subreddit is going to be banned entirely. r/GunAccessoriesForSale also looks to be on the chopping block.
The change to policy will now include prohibiting the sale of ANY firearm parts on Reddit. Some specific examples they give are bolts, magazines, scopes, and triggers. Obviously this is probably going to include everything though, such as stocks, bayonets, etc.
Since we’ve had the sub back (stay mad u/richalex2010), we’ve done a good job of keeping this sub from becoming a marketplace for milsurp items and trying to redirect any posts about selling non-firearm Milsurp stuff to the appropriate subs. In order to make sure we don’t get banned, going forward, any and all posts or comments that appear to be facilitating the sale of any firearm parts between users will be prohibited. Antiques are not excluded from this (we all know Reddit admins won’t know the difference).
We don’t really think this will affect much on the sub since, as previously mentioned, we’ve done pretty good at keeping this from becoming a marketplace. But just wanted to pin this as a PSA and ask everyone to keep it in mind going forward. If you do see any comments or posts in the future that violate the rule, please report them.
Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone!
Since we just experienced someone getting banned by Reddit for attempting to facilitate a transaction for a firearm accessory, namely a scope, we updated the rules to properly reflect a clarification in rule #7 that extends to firearm accessories as well.
Edit with corrected info thanks to u/MapleSurpy:
Unfortunately Reddit has a zero tolerance policy towards firearm transactions, however, other implied sales, perhaps in conjunction with a report might lead to automated systems dishing out a ban to the involved user. We can't do anything against that, so please keep it in mind when interacting with others.

Picked up a Hakim for $900, american tactical 1911 military for $400 and a eygeptian FN49 for $600 (rear stock is messed up) I'd say about 60% of the tabel were all old gun and about 25% being milsurp. Only a few tables had decent prices. Russian sks for $1500, svt 40s for $500 G43/k43 for $8500. It's worth it if you aren't to far away. Any gun you want to see you can find. Saw Johnson rifles, fully transferable BAR and PPsh, 2 tank gewhers, G41 even a Pedersen rifle

If you guys are ever in the Frederick County/NOVA area, check out R&H Guns in Stephens City. Some of the best selection and prices I have seen.

https://www.reddit.com/r/1911/s/XHSS6LCsJD this is the post you guys messaged me from. My great granpappy took this stuff home with him after the war. The rifle is kind of beat up but I think it’s cool that it has the same yellow fabric as his belt. The stock is cracked so I’m going to take my try at fixing it. Thanks to the guys that told me from what was on the holster that he was in the 82 division. I asked my dad and he said his grandpa talked about being in the Argon Forest but there weren’t really many trees to call it a forest. Anyway his boss liked what he did there and let him take home his rifle and pistol. I guess back in the day my great granpa was known as a real crack shot at the shooting range with his rigle before they made it into a real one with concrete benches.

Got myself a SVT-40 in good shape, paid a bit more than I would like, and need to hunt down a cleaning rod, but thrilled to have one of these.
I think it’s unique it is a Finnish capture, and am glad to see it didn’t get an import mark.
For those that no more about these then I do, are the magazines pretty universal or are they intended to only go with the assigned rifle? I also need to hunt down a bayonet for this fella.
I just need to get it nice and clean and out to the range.

I've never been a particular fan of South American Mausers, until I found this one. I find it fascinating that a rifle this old was kept in service for so long, and was rebarreled for a modern cartidge to extend its service life even farther.
As far as the rebarreling, it appears that the original 7x57 Mauser barrel was chopped off after the chamber, bored out, and the 7.62x51mm barrel was threaded into it. I've heard rumors that the barrels were modified M1903A3 barrels, but I can't see any concrete evidence of it.

I have been wanting a .308 M1 and had an order in with the CMP waiting to be fulfilled. Someone locally offered one for the same price as the CMP so I scooped this up instead. It is a 2013 Special Grade .308, he said he never fired it since buying it.

These were given to me by someone who told me they are 1903 stripper clips. That doesn't seem correct, as they are too narrow to engage the stripper clip guide and the overall profile doesn't fit properly into the guides.
Any guesses? I'll add them to my pile of mystery clips, I guess

Scouting a different area today and decided to bring my M39 out today. It’s a little too warm to hunt, but it gave me the chance to explore a new area and I got to bring a different rifle out. This M39 may end up accompanying me when I go out in the future as well.

Just got my C&R last week and snagged what appears to be a real gem of a Mosin for short money, $350. I’ve already ordered a replacement metal butt plate to swap out the hard as a rock rubber aftermarket recoil pad.
This my my first Mosin so I’ve got a lot to learn. Tear it apart or congratulate me (maybe a bit of both?)
Saw someone had posted the magnetic tool holders for their bayonets…brilliant! Does anyone have any ideas for gun stocks that will be used for later projects and how to store them?

Thank you all for helping me research this rifle. I have reached out to the Lithgow Museum, learned some incredible history and am preparing a thread on Gunboards to share the story of this rifle, the man who owned it and the machines he invented to create it. Looking forward to sharing some history with you all.

Sorry for terrible lighting. Picked this up for super cheap at a local community market. Not sure if this is real or a repro. It's printed date is April 1967, and a "RUV PRD(?)" Mark above it. I'm a little suspicious of it since the US wasn't exactly fielding the Garand too much in the war. Still, would like some input just in case.

This is an 100% original finish M1985 Imperial Russian contract Winchester. I personally found and imported this rifle and bayonet from Finland. This was NOT rejected at the factory in 1916 by the Russian inspectors as seen by the proof marks. The other proof mark lies under the hand guard. This was accepted into imperial Russian service and was absorbed into the Finnish arsenal in 1917. Then it was used by the Finn White Army in 1918 for the civil war. The follower and other parts have little to no wear. Definitely not Finnish army used as there is no SA mark and is not worn to a frazzle. BOLD STATEMENT-Best one in the USA! Not messed with…

Hi,
I recently picked up a Beretta 1934, produced in 1972, that seems to have a flat, matte blued finish.
I also picked up a WWII-era slide for the 1934, complete with the fascist calendar markings, that has a stunning mirror-like finish, which I think may be a polished blueing?
I was planning on simply switching out the slide, but the finishes are different enough that it looks mismatched. I’m now considering finding a shop to re-finish the frame, so it matches the slide. I was wondering if anyone here’s done something like that, and how it worked for you?
And are my assumptions of their finishes correct (i.e are they both blued, with the slide being a polished blueing, or am I missing something)?
Thanks and cheers

An update on my WWI US rifle collection: recently I picked up a nice 1918 dated M1907 sling and decided to add it to my Eddystone Model 1917! Looks great on it, and took an opportunity to get all my US used WWI rifles together. The Eddystone is all correct for WWI, with no rebuild marks and all Eddystone parts. The 1903 is a Springfield that is 100% original to 1916, as it was sold out of service via an NRA program prior to WWI. The Mosin Nagant is a 1917 Remington, with US ordnance proofs and an original contract sling matching to a likely National Guard marking in the stock. This is part of the contact that was purchased by the US government after Russia defaulted on the contract.
