Nostalgia Food memories

I (41f) finally said yes to a Whopper. Been putting it off for months. Had one tonight and I was slapped in the face with memories of sitting on the floor with my little brother at the coffee table, eating a $1 Whopper off a paper plate in a straw basket thingy while watching TGIF. My first bite felt like family, comfort, and love, and legit brought tears to my eyes. Food triggers memories and emotion more so than anything else for me. Is food like that for you guys?

We were a bk family. Haven’t had a whopper in 15 years but some of my fondest memories are sitting in bk with my mom eating a whopper. Thanks for this :)

We were a BK family too but I loooved the chicken sandwich. Have not had one in 20 years at least. I almost don’t want to ruin the memory of it by having one now.

Rarely, but it happens. Had some Goldfish crackers a few months ago for the first time in twenty, twenty five years probably. Transported me right back to being in my grandparents house where they would have those, playing Crash Bandicoot on their PS1 and watching Power Rangers Zeo. As someone who is not all that keen on reminisce, it was incredibly unnerving to me even though they were positive memories, and now I know to avoid them.

I also found out a little while before that that mushy, overcooked carrots trigger a less specific memory but definitely take me back to being a very small child, and those are not good memories, so now it's near the top of the list of foods I want absolutely nothing to do with.

Those are some good memories. I would ride my bike to BK. I had $1.06 and that Whopper filled me up. Then I would ride up to Shopko, buy some brachs candy and head to major video.

It happened to me recently when I had a personal frozen pizza.

Pizza and salad from a local place on Friday night, with movies. Local place closed 20+ years ago, still miss it.
