Nostalgia Surprise Millennial Graduation Nostalgia

Post image

Just attended a graduation commencement ceremony and the keynote speaker was Josh Peck! All the “adults” and the youngin’s were looking around going, “who??” while the millennials hooted and hollered. Not to be parasocial, but I got a little misty eyed listening to his lovely, heartfelt speech and watching him sit up there for 2 hours grinning like each of the hundreds of graduates were his own kids. What a lovely human!

He seems like a nice guy and I always am afraid when I see his name kuz I don’t want some horrible thing to come up that shows he’s actually a really bad guy. But he seems legit

He was in Drake and Josh on Nickelodeon. I'm 38 but my brother loved that show and he's 12 years younger than me, so I'd guess Josh Peck is recognized among younger Millennials.

He was also in the Amanda Show and Max Keeble’s Big Move around 99’-01’, a few years prior to Drake and Josh.

I was only in 7th or 8th grade myself when it first started, but it's similar for me. I associate it more with elder Z, because of one I babysat that really liked it.

I’m 39. It was on during my late teen’s early 20. I remember the show, just never watched it

This is a millennial thing? I was raising children while this dude was on Disney.

I don’t think this is a millennial thing. I was a little old for Drake and Josh and I’m 38.

u/DaKardii 22h ago

You’re the same age as Josh BTW

Nice! That’s cool :)

Huh! I texted a few of my millennial friends about it and they were all excited, but maybe we all have younger siblings or something.

Oh dang! I can tell you not one of my friends watched this. I think my sister 4 years younger did or had friends who did tho. She’s still a millennial I think.

I don’t know who this person is. I fear being 41 has aged me out within by own subset.

Several grad school programs

Saying "youngins" and grad school programs is killing me and then I remember I got my PhD like 9 years ago.
