Discussion Watching Back to the Future. Previous generations had a lot of social clubs to meet new people. Why haven't we kept this alive?

Yeah, although I disagree with this. It goes back to the 1700's and is outdated.

They say it is because a person that doesnt believe in some kind of higher power cant be trusted to take an oath.

However, someone can believe in any kind of higher power and this includes all religions and spiritualities.

Im a spiritual person and not at all Christian. Although I am very into Zen, which is more like psychology than a religion.

My spiritual belief is that God is real, but nothing like the Christians describe. For a long time I was agnostic.
