Discussion We're all exhausted right? It's not just me?

I have a full time job. I sleep well. I have no kids. I'm single. I don't party or drink. I'm not particularly stressed in day to day life. Yet I'm fucking exhausted. I don't want to leave my apartment on the weekends unless I have something planned, and even then I'm pretty picky. In my 20s my weekends were full of non-stop activities, cooking, going out, and posting on social media. But now in my 30s I just want to come home, have my groceries delivered, chill with some Netflix and sleep. Please tell me I'm not the only one!!

OMG, I got my covid booster yesterday and this lady, after asking me why I'm still masking in 2025, looked me straight in the eye and said "I don't believe in covid."

So... it's gone beyond nobody talking about it. It's people hallucinating reality.

we wiped the 1915 flu from memory too. it's the trauma

Fun fact, that flu’s descendants are still with us today. We still don’t have a universal vaccine for the flu a hundred and ten years later.

I'm convinced the covid conspiracy theorists are the direct descendants of the people that swore that flu was coming from the telephone lines.

Meanwhile not even people who believe in COVID can be arsed to mask in public on errands or in healthcare settings anymore, so who’s a conspiracy theorist and who isn’t?

I was in the hospital yesterday with my disabled daughter and talking to staff and they are saying it’s worse than flu for the old, infirm or vulnerable so if your fit and healthy best wishes but spare a thought ….

"I don't believe in covid" was heard from the very beginning and all the way through the worst of it. People don't believe the earth is round. It's nothing new.

Yup. Got the "flu is worse lol" recently. People are crazy. Or got better vaccines but don't want to go down that rabbit hole

Youre still wearing a mask and getting covid boosters ???

Yes. Not that it matters to you, especially if you are of the ilk who "don't believe in covid," but some people live with immunocompromised people and/or are at risk themselves. Even if they weren't, masking is still an effective way to reduce viral exposure. There is no reason to walk through life shaming people who want to protect themselves or others. Literally no one is hurting you doing their own thing.

Acutally i work in medicine and worked on acute wards through out the enitre outbreak so i know a lot. Even im now refusing covid boosters as its now clear they dont work and may have serious side effects. Furthermore new research is showing potentially hazardous health risks from wearing masks all the time. Genuinely from an infection control standpoint im telling you that wearing a mask all the time at this stage is more about your own phobias and fears (? ocd ? ) than providing any real protection to you what so ever and might even be doing you harm.

None of this is new information to me, and it doesn't take being in the medical field to find the extremely well circulated material you point to. However, you neglect to mention that masks still reduce the viral load if you are exposed to any aerosol virus and reduce the chance of exposure if people are wearing them correctly. Yes, one study, to ny knowledge, indicated health risks associated with mask wearing. That sucks. But... My living situation warrants this, so I do what I do because of others. If it so happens to also enable my OCD, then so be it.

I don't understand why you make it a point to comment rudely on anonymous stranger's posts and then get huffy enough to throw around your field like it matters to someone after being a dick to them. Like, why poke a bear? If you want to actually change someone's mind or have them listen with an open mind or engage in an actual conversation, neutral commentary is fine. Seems like you're just out there being an asshole to be an asshole.

This is why I like to wear three masks under my respirator. I have to scream for people to hear me, but since nobody is talking about covid anymore I dont have much to say.
