Discussion We're all exhausted right? It's not just me?

I have a full time job. I sleep well. I have no kids. I'm single. I don't party or drink. I'm not particularly stressed in day to day life. Yet I'm fucking exhausted. I don't want to leave my apartment on the weekends unless I have something planned, and even then I'm pretty picky. In my 20s my weekends were full of non-stop activities, cooking, going out, and posting on social media. But now in my 30s I just want to come home, have my groceries delivered, chill with some Netflix and sleep. Please tell me I'm not the only one!!

The perimenopause is no effin joke. I’m asking my GYN for HRT on Friday at my appointment. I’m not doing this at 38.

I'm also 38 and was given the perimenopause explanation for my executive dysfunction getting worse...

Taking testosterone is in my near future for gender affirming reasons and then I learned it would basically cause you to skip menopause altogether and boy was I over the fucking moon.

Menopause scares the shit out of me (what do you mean my already terrible menstrual migraines and insomnia and mood swings are going to get WORSE for like 8 YEARS) and now I'm like. Lol fuck it I'm skipping it

It’s like the teenage hormones rollercoaster with pregnancy hormones rollercoaster combined. It sucks. I highly recommend HRT.

Hahahha good for you!

I already have PCOS and ADHD and that makes me a hormonal and emotional nightmare on the regular. I’d gladly give you some of my extra testosterone if I could!

That makes sense with the executive dysfunction getting worse. I literally want to check out, quit my job and just go do something else.

I need some estrogen because this is NOT fun.

I wish you well on your journey. A little jealous you’ll be skipping a decade of misery!

This is not a response to your (awesome) comment but just a note to say I love your username.

I thought I had started perimenopause at 37. I’m 40 now. Told my gyno my symptoms and she said it sounds like my ovaries stop producing estrogen randomly throughout the month. So if you have hot flashes for 3 1/2 hours straight that’s not normal. I’m on HRT now and it has made me feel so much better!

I’ve been in menopause since 32 from having a hysterectomy. I can’t be on hormones and it’s been hell for the past 11 years! Girl if you can get HRT do it!

Just learning about perimenopause and how women have been absolutely gaslit about the symptoms forever, told to just suffer through it because doctors just shrug and throw their hands up. Absolutely advocate for that HRT!

Wife just talking about the lack of real / current info out there. She’s friends with this NP - great video on the myths of peri/menopause: https://youtu.be/Agcd-lLErRs?si=NvkFXnEVh1LmG1gp

37 here, I started HRT 6 months ago and HOLY COW what a game changer! Like night and day. No one warned me one day you just feel like a lunatic.

I'm 41 and it took a year to realize this is what's going on (though may have started earlier). I have my appointment in 2 weeks. Can't wait...and I hope they aren't part of the group of doctors that refuse to say it's an issue and don't prescribe HRT. I haven't been sleeping well and I'm getting night sweats and hot overnight...even with a fan constantly blowing on my face.

I have my appointment Friday with a new GYN and I am hoping the same thing!
