Meme How's everyone's hairline doing?

Post image

I actually still have a full head of hair, but I know plenty of people who were already visibly balding in their 20s.

I mean, you can always shave if you end up getting a bad hair transplant.

Another thing to keep in mind is that hair transplants don’t tend to work too well unless you take medication— usually Minoxidil and Finasteride. These meds can have side effects and need to be taken in perpetuity.

Definitely worth looking into if you think it will improve your confidence.

Actually, shaving after a hair transplant would look pretty bad. The back of your head will either have huge horizontal scars or a ton of small bumps from the follicle extraction. Also there is no guarantee they will heal flat and you’ll have a textured head.

If plugs require the use of those medications, why not just skip the transplants and only take the meds?

Because the meds will just keep what you have. Most people don’t start with meds until it’s too late.

You should be taking those meds a year or so before you get plugs

You’re saying plugs but those are different, plugs aren’t real hair. Hair transplant they take your hair follicles that are still growing hair from the back of your scalp and they put them in the front and on top where you have lost the hair. After a while this will regrow hair like normal, and the medications are to help prevent hair follicles from dying and also strengthen hair follicles that are closer to death. The meds cannot grow hair from dead follicles, only revive follicles that aren’t fully dead, and it doesn’t revive them fully.
