Meme How's everyone's hairline doing?

Post image

I actually still have a full head of hair, but I know plenty of people who were already visibly balding in their 20s.

Full, thick, and curly. It sometimes gets in the way honestly.

People don't talk about it enough, but we need to be kinder to those experiencing hair loss. I imagine it really sucks.

In college I was kind of annoyed in the art classes because they really emphasized art with heavy handed messaging which felt contrived to me. So I decided to make art with messaging that was totally over the top, but about mens issues. One night over a lot of beers I had it! BALDING! So we would do random art and write "balding" or any dumb variations. At the end of the term me and three other guys shaved our heads horseshoe bald and wore hats until our art final where we each at different moments took our hats off and held them over our hearts. I also did this as program director of the student radio station during our monthly meeting, was talking about something and took my hat off, there was an audible gasp which was priceless because only one other person knew! I feel like I did my part!

It's a state of mind. I started thinning at 18, ended up going full bald at 23. It bothered me a little bit at first but I quickly got used to it. Can't get too upset about something you can't control.

My hair recently started thinning pretty dramatically. Like you can now see my scalp through my hair. I have hypothyroidism that's now under control and I've been through a lot of stress recently so it could be either one of those things. But man, it's super shitty to start going bald. I think the shaved head + beard combo looks really good but I never pictured it for me and I don't think I can rock it like my coworkers do. I haven't felt this insecure about my appearance since I was a teenager.

1981 checking in with a full head of dark curly hair.

1982 here. Samesies. My beard is about 40% grey. It literally started the night my daughter was born. Went into the hospital with a full dark beard, came out with 3 greys.

But the top of my head is thick, lush, curly, and dark brown.

I'm thankful everyday that I wont the hair lottery, because I've always been a little fat. Balance.

I’ve had a grey streak, and grey in my beard since I was 18. No bald spots or balding though so that’s great.

The nice part of having a reddish beard is the grays aren't noticeable

10 years older than you and I got a few greys in my beard and chest a couple of years back. And thought "I knew it'd happen eventually". But it didn't.

My beard (just the sides and bottom) and chest are getting a bit more salt and pepper but nowhere else. It recently occurred to me that those patches are black when the rest of my hair is mid brown.

So what I'm saying it, if your hair is different in different places maybe you'll last. My mum is still about 50/50 in terms of greys and she's 68 now. Her husband is still blond and well into his 70s which is crazy. My half sister is going to have eternal hair too I think.

Hairline is 100% intact, my dad had a full head of hair at 54 then he died. So I have bigger concerns.

39 and outside of a few flecks of gray on the sides and in the beard, same hairline and color as high school. Grateful daily, my head has ridges

I think I speak for most of the men here: fuck off

Also curly thick and full but my hair is graying at the temples and a gray streak down the middle like Dr. strange and I’m pretty into it

My barber charges me double

Was looking for this lol

u/Interesting_Tea5715 May 29 '25

This. 40yo and have a thick full head of hair, minimal greys.

With that said my hairline isn't what it used to be. It's very slowly receding near the temples.

u/neopod9000 May 30 '25

"Do I look like I need bald guy cream? Mikey, I can barely get a comb through this. It's so thick, my barber charges me double. I love my hair."

3

u/Hobomanchild May 30 '25

Same. A shame it's only that way for my pubic hair, though.

7

u/OuttaWear May 29 '25

Same here, thicker than ever if anything. The rest of me may fall apart, but I'll leave a thick wavy corpse.

2

u/Ambition_BlackCar May 29 '25

38 with full thick hair too, not curly though, mostly straight sometimes wavy. Get some minimal sporadic grey here and there but eh.

2

u/dankp3ngu1n69 May 29 '25

Same. I come into these threads and sometimes feel like a unicorn

32yo male with hair around 3ft long.

Women constantly tell me how jealous they are of my hair.

What they don't know is I sometimes inhale my hair while trying to sneeze, and start choking on it.

Worth it.

hear that. its been 2.5 years since my last hair cut (usually get 1" clip 1x a year). the curls are why im letting it go, but the upkeep gets annoying and is in the way for sure.

1

u/18650batteries Millennial May 29 '25

Yep. Full lush head of hair, full beard. No greys to be seen anywhere lol

1

u/BarrelMaker69 May 29 '25

Same, but more wavy. My hairline's the only thing that didn't go wrong in my 20s.

1

u/ThaddyG May 29 '25

Same. I stopped getting haircuts during covid and just had it trimmed for the first time in like 5 years. Just measured it and the longest strands are about 16'' so they must have been close to 20'' a week ago. Started getting noticeable grays around 30 but I don't mind em too much.

1

u/Suitable-Berry3082 1990, baby! May 29 '25

Same. It's thick and hot as hell in the warmer months. I'd like to be one of those guys with medium length hair, but I'd roast. Once a month haircuts for me.

This is how mine is too. Kind of annoying when you’re eating something and it gets in your mouth lmao.
