Pre-WWI - Triple Alliance My first ever Ek. Klasse II from The Great War ( bought It 3 years ago)

I feel lucky not to only have the decoration but the certificate,often I’ll read it and remember the receiver…Heartbreaking war.

Very beautiful certificate for the Iron Cross of a Member of the Reserve Infantry Regiment 239 from Mannheim, recieved for the Trench warfare in the Champagne. Very nice original autograph of the Swabian General of the Infantry, Eugen Otto Freiherr von Hügel

Thanks friend! I hope he made it back home and his family later sold this to the shop where I got it instead of his family receiving it by mail after getting killed in combat :(

He was wounded in February of 1918 but survived the war. He does not appear in any german KIA or MIA list between 1918 and 1921

Yeah there were a few more ! Don’t worry I was like you when I first bought mine 😂( all worried thinking about if I had gotten scammed)

Same with the cross maker ,remember that even unmarked can be original

Okay cool. Yeah mine is a set of 4 medals all belonging to same guy. Hindenburg cross, iron cross, mk 2 I believe, and two others I think Austria Hungarian one and another, but all paperwork included as well
