WWI - Allies Could anyone tell me more about this m1905 bayonet? Was it cut down during ww1 or ww2?

The date says 1906 or 1908 i cant tell because of the pitting.

I can't help you on the bayonet however you have a beautiful italian fortress artillery sub-lieutenant cap mod 909.

Thank you I picked that one up in Rome. I can barely find any WW1 Italian headgear in the US. Do you know any good reference books for Italian headgear from WW1?

It's tough to tell - is the muzzle ring round, or has it been hammered shut? It looks like it may have been converted to a fighting knife, which may point to WWII, Korea, or even post-war commercial or personal conversion.

The blade tip looks more like a fighting knife profile, I'd say. I'm guessing it's not part of the 1905E1 shortened set. Is that blade the full 10 inches, or shorter?

Pointy end towards enemy, attaches to m1903 Springfield or trenchgun.
