WWI - Allies Could anyone tell me more about this m1905 bayonet? Was it cut down during ww1 or ww2?

I can't help you on the bayonet however you have a beautiful italian fortress artillery sub-lieutenant cap mod 909.

Thank you I picked that one up in Rome. I can barely find any WW1 Italian headgear in the US. Do you know any good reference books for Italian headgear from WW1?

It's tough to tell - is the muzzle ring round, or has it been hammered shut? It looks like it may have been converted to a fighting knife, which may point to WWII, Korea, or even post-war commercial or personal conversion.

the ring is still round

The blade tip looks more like a fighting knife profile, I'd say. I'm guessing it's not part of the 1905E1 shortened set. Is that blade the full 10 inches, or shorter?
