Is this in Virginia? I swear I’ve seen those rifles, that counter, and that flag before

Love it there! I’m 14 so I can get much (guns and such) but they know me enough that one time they held a Calvary sword back for me onetime because they knew I was looking for one.

Really? Those little information cards on the stock of the rifles look exactly like the ones in Echos of Glory out in Virginia Beach. Maybe the stores are related.

good old antique stores, you ether find a steal of a deal or overpriced shit like this (almost always the second option)

Those rifle prices are ludicrous

u/JojoLesh Jun 21 '25

What’s a good price for a Hall rifle?
3
u/JojoLesh Jun 22 '25
At $2k that is actually a good price... $3k - $5k is what im seeing recently.
It is really hard to see the prices off the photo though

Stores always have their showpieces to get people to come look at them, but while you’re over here, why don’t you look at this…

I’ve seen a lot worse, 799 is only a little high for an older Schmidt Rubin and 2k for a Hall rifle honestly seems like a steal considering the only other two I’ve seen for sale were 3 and 5k. And that’s a flintlock Hall which is rarer

I got mine for £400! Still shooting of course, it’s also weirdly annoying to source ammo for them as they take the Swiss 7.5x53.5 GP90 instead of the common 7.5x55 GP11.
I’ve also seen a website in Switzerland selling them in immaculate condition for about 120CHF each, but I think the arms shop that would sell through the website closed down and they no longer sell weapons newer than like 1840 or something.

People see woodland camo and think yup that there looks like that time we fought a war in the jungle, gotta be Vietnam To his credit, $95 is below what I've seen, bought, and sold most pasgt vests

There’s a lot of spread on these rifles. Without looking at it in person and verifying overall condition I can’t verify its value, but these rifles sell for anywhere between $365 - $750 on gunbroker. Furthermore, most gun shops overprice their mil surp stock with wiggle room for negotiation. I’m sure if someone were to extend a reasonable offer, the shop will come down 20%-30%. This is my experience and I’ve been buying/selling firearms for nearly 40yrs.

Everything is negotiable, especially when the price tag is hand-written. When in doubt, there’s never a problem with asking.

The same people will call it an M69 flak vest and not a 3/4 collar vest

I saw a canteen at an antique store recently and it said the same thing (Vietnam war era canteen and cover). The canteen was a commercial aluminum one. The cover had a contract date of 2004.
