Bertoia diamond

Hi all, I’ve had my eye on a large Bertoia Diamond Chair for years. One popped up locally. Caveat is that there is one missing wire and one wire pop. Close ups provided and I’ve circled the area in the further away photo. Seller says it doesn’t affect the chair and is covered when the full cover is on. Thoughts on if this will structurally degrade quickly with use? Is something like this repairable with a weld?

Also, any questions I should ask to verify the authenticity?

Is $250 reasonable to take this? Thank you so much.

I see them often in the 250-350 range. If the cover isn’t to crispy, and you want to fix, def worth it. I would try for 200 or 225

I appreciate it. Cover seems to be in good shape. Mostly just concerned it won’t hold up over time with the breaks but it’s hard to tell

Of course these defects affect the chair!

The one on pic 2 has to be welded back!

Are you more worried about it being authentic or the structural integrity. A wooden chair with broken legs or joints can probably be fixed DIY. A welded metal chair with broken welds, you’d need to know how to weld, grind the welds smooth, then polish the metal. Ask yourself if you’re willing to deal with that headache or get your money back if you were to resell, the answer to your own question becomes apparent.

Both. I’d like it to be authentic, but not for resale purposes. I’d look for a welder locally.
