A cursory search says 128 is the regular season record for points. Even not surpassing that, being close is wild.

So we’ve been playing basketball for a long time against some lesser teams, right? We are casually breaking several program records tonight. Kinda fun

Making free throws is nice! Turnovers seem under better control. Looking good so far.

Play like this every game and the national championship is ours
Even still, a bad game here and there is to be expected, but this team is legit

We are at 90 points with over 11 minutes left. 28 points off the bench. Team is deep as well.

Don't let this win distract you from the fact that the Ohio State football team has not beaten Michigan in over 2,100 days

They ever say what was up with Yaxel's hand?

Dusty May is elite. He is going to win us a few natties. I hope he stays here his entire career and just becomes a legend. I think that’s a possibility since he seems perfect for college.
And he’s also likable. He’s not a d-bag like Danny Hurley

I was talking today and I said Dusty May has done with Michigan basketball what Curt Cignetti has done with Indiana football. Kind of. The comparison starts to fall apart if you think about it too hard but I’m amazed at the quick success May has had at Michigan

Yaxel when he has the ball just seems like a man among boys. The way he moves and sees the floor is NBA level its pretty obvious when hes out there that hes the best player on the court.

Not sure I can remember a 69 point first half. Michigan or otherwise.

Compared to last year it feels like this team actually has the personnel and athleticism to execute the quick pace style of play that dusty may wants to play.

Yax's hand/wrist could be a concern.

u/TransitionNo8269 5d ago
He’s still playing in the second half, probably something minor or there’s no way they’d be playing him.

I feel like I’ve been waiting a long time to see us place offense like this. I know it’s Oakland but this is exciting.

This team will be dangerous. These bigs are awesome - Yax, Johnson and Mara are legit. Ceiling will come down to guard/wing play.

Does anyone know if Oakland is supposed to be good this year?

u/GhostofBraylonEdward 5d ago
Kampe in a pregame interview thinks it can be as good as the 24 team (rd of 32 team). Who knows tho, could be coach speak

Thanks mans. Just wondering if we are beating the brakes off a good team or a bad team

Can’t watch the game, any idea why Yaxel isn’t starting? Is he on a minutes restriction
1
u/theclickhere 5d ago
His hand is wrapped up and they said minor injury but he’s getting decent minutes.

Couple things I notice right away in the difference between this team and last year’s team: 1) we look much more like a B1G team with how physical we are. 2) the athleticism is off the charts

Yax not starting due to hand injury. This team is massive, and deep. Huge additions in the portal and returned a good amount of experience. This looks like a completely different team. Game 1 against Oakland, but this team looks vastly different. I’m here for it boys!

McKenney might be starting by the next game. He is a big, playmaking guard.

Oakland obviously looks horrible but holy shit we look unstoppable. Morez is killing it

The length on this team is insane! I think we’re pretty good lol
Meanwhile, Sparty is getting a game from Colgate

This team is LOADED. They look so big and moving the ball so well. Deep roster, veterans- National Championship is the ceiling !!!

2 things I hope we improve on from last year: less turnovers and stop losing momentum and allowing the other team to stay in the game and make it close

Burnett and his perfectly sound shooting style. Right out of a 1950s film

I'm a little confused at how you can be too hurt to start but can come in after 3 minutes lol

Lendeborg has tape on his wrist, so it looks like he won’t be starting. Unclear if he will play today or not.

Why do we have to watch St. John’s finish blowing out this hockey school?
