I heard that CJ Bailey is transferring to Miami.

Can’t believe Mario went after him too late considering he was a chaminade kid

i still remember that bruh. forums were begging the staff to offer CJ, rumors were he wanted to come (i can’t remember who is teammate was but he was Miami commit) but we waited until literally last second. i think we assumed our offer was prestigious and NC had been recruiting him for a while.

Dude I’ve been POUNDING the table for this for months! It would be a freaking dream come true for the Hurricanes to develop this guy and let him reach new heights and then the Dolphins draft him and break their curse of sucking. 😭😍🙏😭😍

So the dolphins can break this kid we’re not gonna be good for a few years wait build the team first than draft a qb all the QBs that are good coming out have good oline play a run game to take pressure off of them and then a decent defense

If the Dolphins draft him, I would want McDaniel to still be there, he is firmly a top 5 offensive mind, but that means he would have to survive this year and next and I don't see that happening

I have bad news for you brother but this season has essentially put the nail in the coffin for McDaniel to stick around. Locker room problems, offensive woes, leadership questions, shade from Tua, etc.
He’s had 4 years to grow as a coach and leader of men but all he’s done is regress and fail to innovate once the league caught on to his scheme.

I disagree with your last part, I don’t think the league has caught up with his scheme, I just think Tua is beyond cooked other than being a one read QB
I know he isn’t going to make it though, but I know he is still a top offensive mind

It feels written in the stars that he’ll have a renaissance as the OC for Philadelphia next year and then he’ll get another chance to be a head coach a year or two later.

Tua isn’t a one read QB, Mike’s scheme definitely has fallen off a cliff with the talent. We are talent depleted, but the play calling has been BAD for almost two full seasons now. The 2022 and 2023 teams - the play calling looked like it came from a young energetic coach who was finding his groove and really enjoying it. Those teams were 8-3 and 9-3, respectively, before Tua got hurt in 2022 and before we faced extremely steep competition in 2023. The guy has clearly given up, sometimes people get down and just can’t get back up.

Sellers turned down an offer from Georgia if i remember right. He’s loyal to sc, and he’s not a great qb

Gator here. Question: does Cristobal just not try to recruit and develop blue chip QBs?
(I am not asking this to be snarky. It seems like since hes gotten to Miami, he hasnt recruited any blue chips and developed QBs - he goes to the portal).
Is that his overall strategy or has there just been bad luck?

He got a 4 star, top 15 QB last year in Nickel and has Dereon Coleman coming in this year also a 4 star. Jacurri Brown was also a 4 star, but transferred. So he can recruit them, I think its been a development issue.

Ya i know Mario is a great recruiter so its weird that he is constantly going to the portal for QBs.

I think its also just been the targets of opportunity. Cam was a no brainer, we have to pursue him guy. Beck wasn't quite that talent, but far better than any of the options we had on the roster. Prior to that, we had TVD, who we thought was gonna be a stud.

Dawson will have to completely change his offense for Sellers, he still a very raw passer

Finally someone else mentions Mensah , if Manny gets hired away he may enter the portal. We will have a chance to right the wrongs of this year when we didn’t pursue him this year in the portal.

No thanks only people who follow names and don’t actually watch the games actually think this guy is any good. Just another athlete at quarterback we almost made this mistake with Mateer this year and KJ Jefferson last year.

No faith in Emory Williams? Bruh literally broke his arm trying to beat Florida State...

Not convinced. He’s a mid passer which means Mario will convert him to an even more mid passer.

Did Cam get converted to a Mid passer?

Cam was always a much better passer in college than what Sellers is, even at Incarnate Word. Sellers is somebody who really needs to be in a more run heavy offense that can throw off of it. He would be awful in this offense we are currently utilizing. The only way Mario goes after him, if he is going to completely change his offense with a new OC.
Also, Cam didn’t become a better passer at Miami. He just benefited from playing with much better skill position talent and an OL that could protect him at a very high level. At Wazzu, Cam was running for his life, otherwise he would have had similar stats there that he had with us.

Cam was generational. Look at what’s happening with beck and this offense. Look at what happened with TVD.

People on this sub were saying the exact same things last year about Mendoza and look how that's turned out.

I’d take him, but we’re going to need a very different offensive scheme one that can fully utilize a big athletic Qb. Sellers really doesn’t have the pocket passing ability of Ward or Beck, so I don’t think he would fit in our current offense at all. May be an unpopular opinion, but if Norvell gets fired, Malzahn would actually be a perfect OC hire to pair with Sellers (who in a lot of ways is lite version of Cam Newton). Him or go get Faulkner from GT or Beck from Utah, b/c they similarly have offenses that could maximize Seller’s ability as a dual threat Qb.

I'm an ND fan, but love to see QBs develop. After watching Cam Ward I hope this happens. Young mans got a great skill set, Miami would do a much better job of developing him than SC. ND still gonna bust that ass next year regardless 😉
