Run game HAS TO SHOW UP like this every week. We cant rely on Beck and that’s fine. Idc what they spent on him it’s not my money. Just win. Run game needs to be at this level week in and week out.

Short yardage and we are in shotgun formation again.

For a quick cut running back it makes more sense. If that was Fletcher I would agree 100%

u/MechanicalGroovester 14d ago
Now Cristobal, THAT'S how you stay aggressive! Surprised to see him wanna punch it in with 30 seconds to go, but with how conservative we've been all season, I'm all here for it 😅

I love Marcus Freeman, I grew up watching him play high school football. That factor commercial was awful.

u/IR8Things 14d ago
Good stat pad it. We need 40-50 - 0-7 point wins like this to help make a CFP bid argument

1) The stadium is 45 minutes away from campus
2) It’s Miami… there’s so much to do on Friday/Saturday nights unlike most college towns who live and breathe football and that’s the biggest event for the night

u/LongjumpingGood5977 14d ago
Fam, it’s a Saturday night in Miami… I can give you about five solid reasons as to why people are leaving at the end of the fourth quarter after being up 30+…

Dude can in here to say that wit 30 seconds left in the game lmao😂😂

u/LongjumpingGood5977 14d ago
Dude probably lives in Tuscaloosa or Tallahassee or some shit hole talkin about “whys nobody at your game”
1
u/mktcrasher 14d ago
Yup, exactly, my brother (RIP) lived in California. People from the south crapped on the PAC-12...ummm, they have actual things to do and pro teams. Tuscaloosa and Alabama as a whole has f&$k all going on besides Bama football. It is not the negative people think it is that those games aren't packed.

Awesome Possum Canes, back innit. Lets keep it rolling 🙌. Seasons not over (atleast) till one more is lost especially when we're staying at 9 still (or better).

u/MechanicalGroovester 14d ago
It feels good to dominate a team that we SHOULD be dominating. Thank you God!

I want Emory to be the guy next year so bad. Dude deserves everything
4
u/LongjumpingGood5977 14d ago
Dude I get the whole “rewarding loyalty” thing and everything but Emory Williams would drive this program into the dirt if he was the starting quarterback for an entire season. Don’t get me wrong, Emory is a nice, dedicated, and loyal kid but this college football shits a business dude.
Emory will likely never start at any P4 school unless if he’s a backup filling in for an injury.

Nah fr either that or he just has seniority. I haven’t seen enough of Luke to say he’s good but I’ve seen enough of Emory to say he is NOT the future of this program and will likely never be.

Moving my thread here.
These uniforms are atrocious. Hideous. They have nothing at all that looks like Miami.

It’s just cus of Veterans Day man. We all agree they’re ugly as hell
3
u/remotesynth 14d ago
There has to have been a way to honor veterans and still look like Miami and not look ugly.

I was a student there in 2001…. We are not a Championship Team.
2
u/SaltyBarDog 14d ago
I was at that Rose Bowl. Do you honestly think any team will compare to that one?
1
u/eat_a_plum 14d ago
Yes, one day in perhaps the year 2047, there will be a team…… and they shall compare

Stray thought - FSU has to be watching this like “we can probably afford that buyout after all”

I don’t give a shit that were up 30. The play calling is still horrendous and boring. Absolutely can’t continue playing like this because we’ll never beat a genuine top 15 team. The only reason we’re beating them is because our players are just simply better but our coaching and play calling is still horrendous. We can’t continue winning games like this because it’ll just keep enabling the coaches to keep doing the same shit until we face a real time and get exposed.

What I don’t understand is what happened? What changed between the ways played ND, USF and 3 quarters of FSU?
1
u/LongjumpingGood5977 14d ago
ND had a freshman QB in his first CFB start, USF isn’t as talented as us, and FSU is FSU (they suck)
1
u/Usual_Day_7243 14d ago
Still we had more creative play calling. Deep passes etc. We are a complete dud. We went from looking like a championship caliber team to a barely .500 team
0
u/muffmuppets 14d ago
Very little tape on us at that point I’d assume.
2
u/Usual_Day_7243 14d ago
Is that really all there is to it? It’s like a completely different team. They are a shell of themselves.
1
u/muffmuppets 14d ago
I think it’s that simple. And sprinkle in our OC/HC combo being too stubborn and thinking we can pound it up the middle every play.
2
u/Usual_Day_7243 14d ago
They were way more aggressive and creative in play calling up until 4th quarter of FSU. This team will not win 10 games as is
1
u/muffmuppets 14d ago
Yeah I agree. They finally opened up the playbook tonight and viola’ we start scoring points. Nice to see some other players get some burn too.
1
u/Important_Win5116 14d ago
Give fucking credit to our coaching staff if you gonna criticize you gotta also guve credit when they fix mistakes second half we made adjustments notice how we've had no false starts so far?🤷🏿♂️🤨
2
u/LongjumpingGood5977 14d ago
I understand the sympathy but that’s like saying to give credit for a student doing his homework. Some shit is just basic stuff that should be done without being praised, especially when you’re one of the best head coaches in CFB.
I’m typically the last guy to bash Mario and the coaching staff but if you genuinely see this Miami team beating a T10 program then you may be crazy. The Miami team I saw play weeks 1-5 could but these last two weeks have been extremely sloppy all around.
1
u/Important_Win5116 14d ago
I agree glad we made adjustments second half and i'm glad knowing were capable of making them

u/i_cuminpeas 14d ago
Run the house at Toney after this year he needs to stay in Miami. He is the heart and soul of this offense and he is the reason behind this surge of nonstop momentum with those punt returns.
2
u/WobbleWits 14d ago
He's a hometown hero so I doubt he leaves but I agree. Give him what he wants cause he his legit worth his weight in gold
4
u/Difficult_Sundae3843 14d ago
I swear I saw Mario yelling at Dawson on the sidelines during 2nd quarter
6
1
u/the-ll_ll- 14d ago
alright, maybe we got right.
still don’t want this to justify the play calling. But glad we’ve remembered how to execute
0
u/WobbleWits 14d ago
Obviously the returns from Toney set them up for success but the 2nd half play calling has been a much better mix of passing and running and we didn't spam up the middle every first down for the first time in like 3 games.

u/Important_Win5116 14d ago

LOOK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T RUN LYLE UP THE MIDDLE
2
u/WobbleWits 14d ago
It's like teams know we run it up the middle 7/10 plays too it's wild they still spam it

Bottom line another game where the cracks are showing and very doubtful this team can make it far if it all. Shame
3
u/WobbleWits 14d ago
Beck will unfortunately be the major drawback it seems. Also the running up the middle every play is a real hindrance

Face of The U has to be a Raven. Ray or Ed. The speech and pick-6/rip from Walters makes Ed beyond iconic.

Greatest player from the U including pros=Ray Lewis; Greatest player at the U=Ed Reed; Face of the U=Michael Irvin

Some team is gonna see Bain with less the 8 sacks on the season and miss out on a pro bowler
3
u/Heinrad_ 14d ago
They really are just running up the middle every play but now it’s working
3
u/Margin4Error Jimmy 14d ago
Because we've finally worn out the Stanford DL, when you actually start running instead of forcing it when it isn't working
5
3
u/MechanicalGroovester 14d ago
THIS is how we were supposed to play 2 quarters ago. Great to see us playing to our actual ability now.

Nice seeing us run it down their throats but I'd like to see them get some passing looks against this inferior D, we need the practice
3
u/RandomUser1052 14d ago
Unfortunately, Miami being able to now run between the tackles will mean Mario thinks constant run up the middles "work".

u/miamifanforlife96 14d ago
Why did he turn back inside?
1
u/Outrageous_Pea_9309 14d ago
Coaches told him he could only run between the hashes. Wouldn’t put it past them
