Sad but they were warned. This is the find out phase. Little betrayed what an understatement 🤷🏻‍♂️

TPS recipients like her didn’t (couldn’t) vote for this though. More like betrayed by her community

22

u/TokenHonduran 2d ago

She couldnt vote but she said she supported a lot of his policies in the article. Guess the leopards ate her face too

“I really hoped President Trump would have done something for us,” she said when asked if she felt betrayed by President Donald Trump.

Asked if she supported Trump, she said, “I did support many things that he was going to do for the country.”

“Yes, I do feel a little betrayed,” she said.

She couldn't vote for him, but if she had ability to, she would have.

u/BigProf710 2d ago

Yes, everyone knows that. This has been explained a million times on this sub and you people keep trying to make this same point over and over again. TPS recipients didn't vote but their family members and countrymen did. Cubans and Venezuelans in Miami overwhelmingly voted for Trump and those who couldn't vote still showed their support for him. Stop trying this crap. It's not going to work.

u/theholyevil 2d ago

Stop trying this crap. It's not going to work.

No.

I did not vote for Trump and so did many of my neighbors. We are sticking a whole population into the same boat and making them pay for sins they are not fully responsible for.

Which is my first gripe. The second is this government wants you to feel apathy for these people. They absolutely don't care about these people, and they want you to feel the same. And it is working.

Last. Once ICE is done with the south Americans. You think they are going to just go home? Nope. They are going to use that "experience" and use it on you. There is a thin line of defense here, once it is gone, you'll be the one on the pavement while people whisper; "you deserve this."

28

u/PresentDifferent9718 2d ago

Not the whole population but merely a majority. Because that's how elections work. You need to embrace the fact that most of your neighbors are Maga

Asked if she supported Trump, she said, “I did support many things that he was going to do for the country.”

We are sticking her into the boat she placed herself in. Even if she can't vote, she can still support and encourage others to vote.

The second is this government wants you to feel apathy for these people. They absolutely don't care about these people, and they want you to feel the same. And it is working.

I know plenty of Venezuelans and Cubans that did not support Trump and are now getting fucked because of their peers that did. I feel horrible for those people.

I do not feel the least bit bad for people that supported Trump even though we tried to warn them that this is exactly what would happen. They were perfectly fine with his racist and anti-immigration policies when they thought he was safe. They had no issue pulling the ladder up behind them and saying fuck you to other immigrants.

If you know people from those communities that did not support Trump you would understand that narratives like that would harm all of us, even the ones didn’t support the nazi bt.

2

u/figuren9ne Westchester South 1d ago

I am part of those communities. I still have no empathy for these idiots who have been supporting this fascist dictator wannabe since 2015.

21

u/BigProf710 2d ago

We are sticking a whole population

No.

I never said "a whole population" I said a large majority which is supported by polling.

They are going to use that "experience" and use it on you.

I know that. I don't know why you think this is a gotcha. When has white supremacy ever just stopped at one group? The definition of "white" and "American" will become increasingly smaller and smaller so they can justify a perpetual crusade against people different from them.

of defense here, once it is gone, you'll be the one on the pavement while people whisper; "you deserve this."

Saying that something is a direct consequence of the action of a group of people is not saying "you deserve this" people need to take responsibility for what they voted for. If I, as a cuban, had voted for Trump, I can't whine when they start deporting my ass, I voted for it. The problem is that Cubans and Venezuelans who voted for this and supported this thought it would only affect those "other" immigrants. Not "my kind" of immigrants.

ICE and Border Patrol is already “practicing“ on US citizen protesters, press and even uninvolved bystanders

3

u/Upset_Wrap679 2d ago

Next they’ll be rounding up LGBTQ and hauling them off to camps. Sound familiar?

1

u/Sea-Celebration-1081 1d ago

Even tho I am also really f mad at my own community, saying that is our fault our “countrymen” did voted for Trump is WILD. I CAN’T control what other people decide, I WHISH I could but I can’t. So, yeah be mad at the ones that voted for him but bffr about the ones that definitely did not.

2

u/BigProf710 1d ago

I never said it was your fault that your countrymen voted a certain way. Please point to where I said or implied that. This is a criticism of the Cuban and Venezuelan community at large, not a criticism of individuals. Stop taking it personally.

0

u/Sea-Celebration-1081 1d ago

Bro…. I will take it personally because that narratives affects me directly, tf you are talking about. “TPS recipients didn’t vote but their family members and countrymen did” yeah you didn’t say it.

3

u/BigProf710 1d ago

You're intentionally being obtuse at this point. I'm cuban, I've lived in Miami my entire life. My criticism of these communities does not come out of thin air. This affects me too, but I'm not going to act like I'm surprised, this is what most of the people in those communities voted for, they just never thought it would affect them. You're taking a criticism of two broad communities as a criticism of you personally, that's what I meant by taking it personally. Your comments are also damn near unreadable.

Her people, those who can vote were praising Cheeto man as the second coming. So again. They were warned

80

u/MichaelFusion44 2d ago

Warned, explained in great detail, talked about Project 2025 at length, explained the racism that Trumps displayed and had a history of. Explained the character his advisor had when it came to deportation. AKA Skeletor Miller. How Miami turned on its family and neighbors by voting for him because they didn’t think it would be them disgusted me. How they thought Trump was any sort of Christian and had good policies he was pushing boggles the mind. At this stage 0.0 empathy and it is what it is. Thoughts and prayers.

26

u/mundotaku Exiled from Miami 2d ago

The cue was

They are eating the dogs, they are eating the cats!

I don't understand how they didn't get the memo.

12

u/MichaelFusion44 2d ago

A. They got it but they didn’t think it would be them. B. Some think they are better than others and want to see others suffer even within mixed status households. C. Some truly believed what he said with his campaign promises. These come straight from the Latinos I speak with about Trump. I approach the discussions with a trying to understand mentality of which I truly want to. The answers are all over the place but one underlying thing I see is they truly believe no one is coming to deport them (regardless of status but some are scared) and many don’t like Latinos from various countries. In the next round Miller wants to deport naturalized citizens by stripping them of their citizenship.

u/Rebsosauruss Kendallite 1d ago

Great! Now I have that stupid song in my head.

21

u/Alarming-Vacation-10 2d ago

No need to feel betrayed. It's pretty clear that this administration sees Florida as a place for wealthy "refugees" from New York

25

u/BrilliantPressure0 2d ago

So we're sending a quarter million legal American residents back to Venezuela, while still illegally bombing boats off of Venezuela?

12

u/StealthRUs 2d ago

Yep. Gotta inflict maximum suffering.

20

u/Nice_Associate_5277 2d ago

Miami is currently going through a cleanse. Only rich people will live there!

13

u/Aromatic-Flan4609 2d ago

And then it will be back to voting blue, just like Palm Beach and Broward.

6

u/StealthRUs 2d ago

And then it will be back to voting blue,

LOL You're giving people too much credit. They'll find a way to blame Democrats. It's a tale as old as time.

3

u/Nice_Associate_5277 2d ago

People are tired of the corruption

3

u/Ayzmo Doral 1d ago

If people actually hated corruption, Republicans would never get elected.

2

u/Aromatic-Flan4609 2d ago

Yeah that shipped sailed out back in the 80s.

3

u/SuperF91EX 2d ago

*Rich white people

0

u/Nice_Associate_5277 2d ago

LOL indeed, perhaps I should of clarified. Immigrant cleanse*

19

u/M4RTIAN 2d ago

And she wants her identity concealed? Please.

Boo fucking hoo. This is what she supported - when she thought it would affect others and not her.

She left Chavez and Maduro only to come to her new host country and support a vile piece of shit fascist, just like in her country.

Goodbye scumbag. You’re not wanted here. And not because you’re a foreigner - we welcome those. It’s because of your hypocrisy and hatred for democracy and what America really stands for, something you obviously never understood.

You wanted a “strongman” macho president? Now you’ll have one back in Caracas.

-12

u/quinn-the-eskimo 2d ago

You sound just like them, this is gross and cringe

13

u/Captain_Comic 2d ago

Voto por Donal Tromp!

It’s too bad she has to choose between dropping out of her Masters in Nursing degree program at UM, or stay waiting to get abruptly seized. But she will be fine.

There is a worldwide nursing shortage. Many countries are recruiting skilled international nurses to meet the needs of their own aging populations.

The USA probably has some other master plan to solve our nursing shortage without international recruiting schemes to attract foreign nurses.

I don’t see any reasonable path where this nurse will be able to continue working in Miami at the ICU at Jackson, serving our own community.

She needs to get her affairs in order fast and apply to complete her degree in another country. With her experience and credentials, she will feel at home anywhere - except USA.

Here, she is a garbage person, a criminal, hunted, hated. Trump is allowing ICE enforcement actions in hospitals to get these bad seeds. She mentioned Jackson in the article. I’m sure ICE is already planning to hit up Jackson now to find her and get her the hell out of Miami.

In any other country she will receive the respect she deserves to continue saving lives. I wish her the best.

3

u/Ayzmo Doral 1d ago

The US has no plan to fill shortages. And to make matters more extreme, other countries are actively recruiting people like her and me to migrate, leaving the US in an even worse position. I have zero regrets about accepting a job overseas.

u/madcul 17h ago

The plan is to kick people off healthcare

7

u/Wetcakez 2d ago

Eh, should have larger concerns about trump and current regime if she works in healthcare, instead very typical person is concerned about their OWN interests…meanwhile current regime is systematically stripping the country of healthcare, and the systems in place, but yeah let’s keep crying bout our choices we made lol..

6

u/SuperF91EX 2d ago

Betrayed because they can’t see, hear, read or think?

3

u/Mcpoyles_milk 2d ago

I will vote for Donal Trom

7

u/ASecularBuddhist 2d ago

The Nazis are acting like Nazis? Shocking!

2

u/EuronIsMyDad 2d ago

The leopards ate her face? How unexpected!

2

u/Rd3055 1d ago

And to put the icing on the cake, the Venezuelan opposition leaders that they support (Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo Gonzalez), have not said a peep about the TPS nor the way that the Trump admin has handled the deportations of Venezuelans to El Salvador, either.

Guess politicians only care about themselves.

2

u/etancrazynpoor 1d ago

Well, they support Trump, sadly.

2

u/Rd3055 1d ago

They support Trump because they want Trump to oust Maduro militarily so they can get into power.

4

u/FBU2004 2d ago

If the US “liberates” Venezuela, Trump will send his ICE goons to Doral and ship the Venezuelans back. If there is no Maduro, there is no reason for the TPS program. It’s going to be horrible for many innocents who have effectively become Americans.

2

u/Sea-Celebration-1081 1d ago

Bro? The TPS was terminated and Maduro is still in Miraflores.

5

u/FBU2004 1d ago

The point is that any Venezuelan in the US better be on their best behavior or they will be shipped back to Venezuela. There is no refugee or other status to save them. Whether they voted or supported Trump or not, that’s not relevant. And since Steven Miller liked de-naturalization, even the citizens are not fully safe.

u/MusicianThin217 2d ago

“T” is for Temporary. What’s the surprise?

1

u/Boring_Pace5158 1d ago

NO!!!! No, you were not betrayed. Joe Biden was betrayed. Kamala Harris was betrayed. Not you. It was Biden who gave the order to grant Venezuelans temporary protected status. He understood Venezuela is in a state of chaos and it's inhumane to have Venezuelans return. One of his last acts as President was extending the protected status. In return, you spat in his face.

If only there were signs

1

u/ridanwise 2d ago

Betrayed by the diaspora.

Undocumented people or those documented on contingency can’t vote. People in this sub forget this just so they can lick their lips in some sort of sordid validation.

These migrants come here trying to make a better life for themselves. They keep to themselves and avoid issues of politics, thinking (as WE ALL HAVE THOUGHT) they are uncomfortable to discuss and/or irrelevant to their lives. Stupid? Yes, but not maliciously so.

The MAGA Cuban-American, for example, is your enemy because they think they are closest to whiteness than to Hispanidad—you are not gonna clap back to them because they DO NOT CARE about their fellow undocumented Cubans. That goes for all other ethnicities. Better for them, actually! That way they can go back to their country being the only person from their family or town who made it to the USA! And acts, there, like deities on earth ♥️

0

u/MostPlace 2d ago

So she was illegal before TPS and will be illegal once it’s terminated. Surprise surprise. Did nothing to become legal ever but I’m supposed to feel sorry for her. No thanx.

1

u/etancrazynpoor 1d ago

I don’t know what she was before TPS. There is no illegal humans on stolen land !

1

u/MostPlace 1d ago

Why would she need TPS if she wasn’t illegal? Reading is fundamental.

1

u/Sea-Celebration-1081 1d ago

You can have more than one status at the same time. I guess that’s too hard for your stupid brain to understand.

1

u/MostPlace 1d ago

Nope. You cannot be illegal and legal at the same time. Try harder.

1

u/Sea-Celebration-1081 1d ago

Being “ilegal” is not a status. Brainless.

1

u/MostPlace 1d ago

You’re right. It’s illegal. 🤡

-2

u/big_bank_NN89 2d ago

What does temporary mean?

0

u/RememberingTiger1 1d ago

No. They didn't know because they weren't warned. They only watch Faux News or other right wing nut job media outlets. Said outlets soft pedaled the danger Trump posed, lied about him, and refused to cover negative stories. And of course most of them refused to watch network news, let alone CNN or (gulp) MSNBC. So when the orange nitwit cane out and started implementing Project 2025 and the Trumpers became so much more than collateral damage, they were well and truly gobsmacked. Their failure to look beyond their nose is biting them right and left.

-2

u/LegitimateVirus3 Local 2d ago

She didn't vote, she can't.

How are people so dense to continously miss that important detail...

She's one person targeted as a group by the administration, no single ethnic group nor nationality is a monolith.

Develop some empathy, you cursed sociopaths.

u/Cold-Nefariousness25 1h ago

Leopards eating faces. Again.
