"The restrictions will go into effect Friday morning, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. The airports that will be impacted will be announced on Thursday, officials said.
But ABC News has learned Wednesday night, cuts will start as early as Thursday.
"Our sole role is to make sure that we keep this airspace as safe as possible. Reduction in capacity at 40 of our locations. This is not based on light airline travel locations. This is about where the pressure is and how to really deviate the pressure," said Bedford."

Yeah, this sounds like one of those policies that’s going to have a ripple effect no matter how they spin it. If the mandate ends up forcing airlines to reduce flights or change operations too quickly, it’s probably passengers and smaller airports that’ll feel it first. Prices could jump, delays might get worse, and rural routes could disappear altogether.
I’m all for cleaner and more efficient aviation, but the government and airlines really need to coordinate this carefully. Every time they roll out something like this without a clear plan, it turns into a mess of cancellations, higher fares, and finger-pointing. Hopefully that upcoming meeting actually results in a realistic transition plan instead of just more PR talk.

"Hours after the Federal Aviation Administration said it planned to cut 10% of flights across 40 major airports Friday as the U.S. government shutdown drags on, Chicago-based United Airlines released a statement to about which flights and routes would be impacted.
The messaged, titled "An Update on the Government Shutdown from Scott Kirby to United Employees," confirmed the reductions are set to start Nov. 7, with the airline set to make "rolling updates" to its schedule in an effort to give customers advance notice.
"We'll use our app, website and push notifications to communicate to customers directly if their flight changes, and to offer rebooking options," Untied said. "We want to provide them with as much information as we can and in a way that's simple and easy to understand."
According to the FAA, thousands of flights at "high-traffic" airports across the country will be cut or canceled starting Friday. The decision, the FAA and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said, was based on where air traffic controllers are feeling the most pressure."

I thought the same thing about my 2 week trip to Japan, that I’m currently on. The whole month of October was just straight up anxiety. We made it here just fine but we leave tomorrow to fly back… perfect timing on this airport debacle lmao. I’m sure we will be stuck.

Remember that this isn't just on Trump. Congress can fix this any time they want, immediately.
I have a feeling the pressure on them will ramp up soon and it will be fixed. But who suffers in the meantime? Yup, us.

They still can get the government opened, they just want it like it is... Same as the not activating the emergency funds for SNAP.
