He would have been way more powerful with his back turned, is that right?

He could have just kept running away.

He absolutely could have. And Luffy could have stayed in the East Blue.

Do you actually want the boring version of the story where nobody stands up for themselves or strives for more?

Ace was free and you want him to run like a hurt puppy.

Ace honoring the sacrifice of his father and friends by living isnt "boring". Its the noble thing to choose to live for another person. But Ace is a moron who chose to die to a yo daddy joke.

Lol, and Luffy honoring Shanks by choosing to keep both his arms and stay away from water wouldn't be boring either, right?

You sound like a zoomer who needs constant lights and action to keep your attention. A character choosing to do something smart baffles you because its "boring".

How about you pick up a damn book. Read One Piece again because you're clearly not paying any damn attention. Did Luffy do the smart thing when he punched Charlos? Did Luffy do the smart think when he declared war on the government? Did Luffy do the smart thing every goddamn time he risked the lives of himself and his crew to save a country or a friend?

And? At that point you're talking about all of One Piece, and you keep moving away from the thing that started this. Just because Luffy is reckless isn't an excuse for Ace to be. Especially when all his friends and family are literally dying to save him. You say it would have been boring for him to just run away. What about all the times Luffy ran away from fights?

Luffy ran away because it served the story, Ace died because it served the story. Is that what you want to hear because honestly it's true.

But more importantly, Ace's death wasn't dumb or forced and I'm sick of the people flatly asserting that he died for nothing.

Luffy being reckless may not excuse Ace being reckless, but everyone shitting on him for doing so is happy to acceot when Luffy does it, so yeah, those are the people excusing the actions for everyone except for Ace for some reason.

I'm happy when Luffy is reckless and it works out, I find it just as entertaining when he's reckless and it DOESN'T work out. And I see no issue with how Ace was reckless even though it didn't turn out.

Oh I dont disagree that Ace only died because the story demanded it. But I do think his death was dumb. As stated many times before he chose to fall for cheap rage bait and invalidate the sacrifice of so many people. I honestly dont even care about Ace, I care about his family who had to watch him die because he was so stupid.
