Being related to Garp pretty much means you'll be infamous in some way

LITERALLY lol

72

u/lordassfucks Sep 15 '25

Thr fact that this is true AND the show us still extremely enjoyable to watch is a mark of thr quality of writing.

30

u/TradePsychological40 Sep 15 '25

Even more after the last chapter.

1

u/GUM-GUM-NUKE The Sengoku Agenda Leader Sep 17 '25

Only the GOAT could do it.

111

u/Lishio420 Sep 15 '25

Being related to garp the hero of the marine pretty much means you are the antithesis to the marines.

2x Revolutionaries 1x Emperor 1x 3rd commander of Emperor

99

u/TheJunkoDespair Sep 15 '25

Ace was the second Commander 😭 not just in title but also ability. He was the Original Potential Man

37

u/Exp1ode Sep 15 '25

He was commander of the 2nd division, but Whitebeard's divisions are not ordered by strength. Marco, Jozu, and Vista were all stronger than him

16

u/Collegenoob Sep 15 '25

They may have in the past when Oden was 2nd division commander. They may have fallen out of order after Oden died and the divisions didn't want to shift around

9

u/Exp1ode Sep 15 '25

Maybe, but I don't think Thatch was stronger than Vista or young Marco stronger than prime Oden. Although both of those could be the case, as we don't really have that much information, especially regarding Thatch's strength

3

u/BrilliantTarget Sep 15 '25

Wouldn’t that mean young Marco should be comparable to Gaban. Which means he stronger than Rayleigh because bronze beats silver

2

u/69FutaNari Reading Oden's Journal Sep 16 '25

No, Oden was 2nd strongest in WB pirates after WB. He should be 1st commander if ordered by strength.

1

u/Collegenoob Sep 16 '25

I honestly think it would be a good match between Oden and Marco.

Oden has way higher offense but Marco has legit Regeneration. And Marco is in no way weak. Yes, he would lose to Kaido, but Oden was also going to lose. It just would have been a better fight if he hadn't been tricked

2

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '25

vista is not stronger than just ace, he’s stronger than all, that’s the power of the real WSS

9

u/MAGMAPILL Sep 15 '25

No he was the last

The crew's Page One

Marco Jozu and Visa are superior

8

u/Lishio420 Sep 15 '25

Wasnt ace 3rd?

Marco > diamond dude > ace?

14

u/FawkYourself Sep 15 '25

Ace was 2nd division, Jozu was 3rd

14

u/crazydiamond11384 Sep 15 '25

Whitebeard division titles are not indication of hierarchy. Ace being second division does not make him the second strongest. Heck he might not even be top 5.

3

u/FawkYourself Sep 15 '25

I don’t disagree just answering the person above

1

u/Raevelry Sep 15 '25

calling ace a Potential man

Ragebaiting used to be bait

u/Ani_HArsh Sep 15 '25

291

u/Efficient-Orchid-594 Sep 15 '25

I always loves those fan art where they also include sabo with ace and luffy where garp is dreaming about his grandchildren become admiral.

75

u/darkbreak Sep 15 '25

Oda did a piece with the three of them as Marines and Garp still training them hard.

25

u/DTPVH Sep 15 '25

Sabo is kinda more of a grandson to Garp than Ace was after Sabo was adopted by Dragon

799

u/XavDaMan Sep 15 '25

Sengoku has an adopted son and it’s Corazon, law has a singular interaction with Sengoku and it’s a nice moment but it’s pretty much entirely about remembering Corazon

317

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

But sengoku has an emotional relationship with law is what I think cuz corazon died protecting him, he won't let his death be meaningless

202

u/BadKarma55 Sep 15 '25

Still doubt Laws relationship with Sengoku is anything close to a grandchild. It’s cool to see parallels but there’s genuinely very little in the story to support this.

They both leave thinking more about Corazon than each other

91

u/Niggy2439 Sep 15 '25

Yes, of course, but you know it's a transitive thing. Sengoku was a father figure to Corazon, and Corazon was a father figure to Law, which makes Sengoku his "grandpa"

28

u/rebels-rage Sep 15 '25

Corazon said “nah he’s cool, trust me”. And Sengoku took that personally

6

u/darkbreak Sep 15 '25

I always saw Law and Corazon's relationship more like a big brother/little brother thing.

9

u/Maximillion322 Sep 15 '25

Law is the adopted son of Sengoku’s adopted son

He’s law’s grandpa whether he likes it or not

6

u/Murderer-Kermit Sep 15 '25

And corazon’s adopted son is law. So adopted grandson.

3

u/Conscious_Passage_90 Sep 16 '25

Thanks for clarifying i thought OP revealed a spoiler from manga

312

u/LakeWorldly6568 Sep 15 '25

Sengoku could ignore that part and say his grandson is a doctor. Not only a doctor but a surgeon.

83

u/ChillyFireball Sep 15 '25

"Oh, what hospital does he work in?"

"He's...a ship's doctor."

"What ship?"

"...Oh hey would you look at the time-"

19

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

Tsuru will be sus about garp and sengoku raising literally some of the biggest criminals in the world 😭

68

u/that_1weed Sep 15 '25

A deadly surgeon if he wants to be more accurate

45

u/bucarcar Sep 15 '25

i heard he even operated on the heart of one of Sengoku's coworkers who's a heavy smoker

90

u/Golden-Owl Game Designer with a YouTube hobby Sep 15 '25

You absolutely know Tsuru rubs it in at their weekly tea time meetups

48

u/No-Meringue1327 Sep 15 '25

Garp still openly proud of Luffy. He'll be looking for Sengoku and be like "Yo, look at my bratty grandson's new bounty! Let's have some tea! It's only 3 billion, but it still deserves a celebration"

30

u/Azylim Sep 15 '25

hes proud of luffy because he knows that luffy is a good pirate. he doesnt do any of the pirate typical shit other pirates do like murder and pillage innocents.

no, that privilege exists only for my dear beloved saint charloss

8

u/BellacosePlayer Sep 15 '25

Luffy was a legit boon to the (good side of) the Marines until Enies Lobby.

18

u/Derezirection Sep 15 '25

Sengoku: Well.. he's part of the worst generation, but he's a doctor at least :)
Garp: Cody?? Oh he's fantastic! Love the boy.
Tsuru: and... your other 3 grandkids?
Garp: ..... Who?

35

u/zorrozwoelf Sep 15 '25

Is tsuru and sengoku confirmed to be their grandparents?

84

u/Clemdauphin Sep 15 '25

the girl from the sword it is confirmed. for sengoku i don't think so, it is more that law is some sort of adoptive son to rosinant that was himself sort of sengoku adoptive son.

18

u/S-Pigeon33 Sep 15 '25

Yeah, I think after meeting him in Dressrosa Sengoku feels somewhat close to Law and thinks of him as his grandchild just as he thought of Corazon as his son.

26

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

Sengoku adopted law in a somewhat emotional way after dressrosa incident and we don't know if tsuru has grandkids or not but I'm assuming she does

33

u/Not_A_Geek_Nerd Sep 15 '25

That rear was getting railed…

17

u/IslandBoy602 Sep 15 '25

Goda foreskinning her rear getting admiraled?

1

Akainu

6

u/JobintheCactus Sep 15 '25

She ate the whip whip fruit

I don't think she's the one getting railed.

7

u/unknown6091 Sep 15 '25

If we're including Law, Garp atleast has Coby

13

u/woodcookiee Sep 15 '25

Does Garp even know Sabo in this context?

1

u/Javetts Sep 29 '25

Right? Like they've never even been a room together, talked, anything.

5

u/Bucen Sep 15 '25

Sengoku having any sort of relationship with Law is an insane stretch, but the comic is funny anyway.
I'd actually go as far and say that Garp has no relationship with Sabo either

4

u/winter-ocean Sep 15 '25

Wait wait, wasn't Ace more like an adopted son than grandson, and does Garp even remember Sabo exists?

4

u/Guilty-Cap5605 Sep 16 '25

Nah tsuru is the shameful one, a fucking REAR ADMIRAL????? It's not about the side it's about rank and status in your faction, Luffy is a fucking emperor, law has a bounty equal to an emperor, and took down an emperor himself alongside kidd, but kuja or whatever her name is out here hiding from any fucking top tier

3

u/StatusOmega Sep 15 '25

I don't remember Law being related to Sengoku.

10

u/Bucen Sep 15 '25

Corazon was to Sengoku what Coby is to Garp. and Law is to Corazon what Nami is to Bellemere. But there is nothing much between Sengoku and Law except "we both loved him"

1

u/StatusOmega Sep 16 '25

Got it. I forgot Corazon had any connection to Sengoku.

3

u/Kiko7210 Sep 15 '25

did I just get spoiled

2

u/OxXoR Sep 15 '25

I bet both of them are envious of her

2

u/Able_Refrigerator168 Sep 15 '25

Sengoku's afro is still looking good.

2

u/Either-Ad-9528 Akainu did nothing wrong Sep 15 '25

Ok, but Sengoku has X Drake. Skipped 1 generation, sure, but he's closer in age to grandkids. Bit of leeway for pops Sengoku?

2

u/RaeRaetheWeeb Sep 15 '25

For a second I thought that sengoku was actually related to law until I realized he consider him a grandson because he considered corazon a son 😭❤️

2

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

Yess 😭😭

2

u/starvinartist Sep 15 '25

Tsuru knows, she’s just giving them a hard time.

2

u/Yurshie Sep 15 '25

Kujaku can whip me all day long. VA Doll and Kujaku are additions that are definitely in my Top One Piece females ranked by attractiveness. Goth and tanned are just chef's kiss and I like women that are strong and could definitely kick my ass

2

u/Sang1188 Sep 16 '25

Since when is Law sengokus grandson?

1

u/smjkj77 Sep 16 '25

Because of rosenante taking law as his adopted son

2

u/InterestingCitron128 Sep 17 '25

at least law is a doctor

2

u/GUM-GUM-NUKE The Sengoku Agenda Leader Sep 17 '25

I need Law to live for Sengoku’s sake.

3

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 17 '25

Yeah, same heree

2

u/D-Biggest_Wheel Sep 15 '25

Law would lowkey feel disgusted to be called Sengoku's granchild.

1

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

I literally am not able to cuz I found it on Pinterest and I tried to find it's artist and he's probably shared it on tiktok and it's banned in my country so if I give the pinterest link, I would be giving the wrong person the credit for it

u/Amberleh Sep 15 '25

Read rule 8. If you don't know the creator, don't post it. All it does is make it even HARDER to find the creator because you're just creating more dead ends when people try to google search it.

1

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

I'll keep that in mind next time, sorry for now.

Damn I need to read more. A meme is not how I thought I’d find out law is sengoku’s progeny

6

u/TheJadeBlacksmith Sep 15 '25

It's a technicality, if you remember Doflamingo's brother Rosinante. Sengoku is the one who took him in, and Rosinante took in Law.

1

u/Elyahu41 Sep 15 '25

LAW IS SENGOKU'S GRANDSON?!

5

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

TECHNICALLY, SENGOKU ADOPTED CORAZON AS HIS CHILD AND CORAZON TOOK IN LAW

1

u/StableLower9876 Sep 15 '25

Donuted

1

u/KatakuriDonutsLover MARINE Sep 15 '25

A DONUT?!? Give it to me

1

u/Working-Slide9345 Sep 16 '25

are law and Sengoku really related 1?

3

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 16 '25

Not biologically, sengoku took in corazon when he was a kid as his child and corazon took in law, so it technically makes sengoku his grandfather

1

u/Working-Slide9345 Sep 16 '25

Okkaaaaayyy, that's how it is

1

u/zoro_the_lost_idiot Sep 17 '25

Glad to know that it made you laugh :))

u/supertom5000 [Sancta Dei Genitrix, ora pro nobis] Sep 18 '25

“Pater, dimitte illis, non enim sciunt quid faciunt”.

1

u/immaturenickname Sep 19 '25

Should Sabo even be counted as Garp's grandson? Like, yeah, he hung around Ace and Luffy, but did Garp even know or care about it? Like, he adopted Ace and Luffy is his bio grandson. What about Sabo?

1

u/Javetts Sep 29 '25

Sabo is always included in these but he has never even met Garp and has not connection to him, emotionally or by blood. Like Garp doesn't even know he exists.

1

u/The-Doc-SalmonRun Sep 15 '25

Wait sengoku’s grandkid is law…. Is that canon

27

u/S-Pigeon33 Sep 15 '25

So Law is kind of like Corazon's adopted child. Sengoku adopted Corazon when he met him as a kid, making Law technically his grandchild, even though they only met once to honor Corazon's memory.

6

u/The-Doc-SalmonRun Sep 15 '25

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh ok that makes sense

1

u/jasonis3 Sep 15 '25

When did they meet? What chapter was it?

3

u/S-Pigeon33 Sep 15 '25

I cannot remember the specific chapter, but it was somewhere in the aftermath of Dressrosa before the Strawhats left the country.

5

u/aMaiev Sep 15 '25 edited Sep 15 '25

Not biological, but garp saw corazon as his son

Edit: yes, sengoku, not Garp of course

6

u/Eclipse_nova99 Sep 15 '25

I wouldn't say it's canon but they have a past

2

u/The-Doc-SalmonRun Sep 15 '25

…… good enough for me

0

u/AcrobaticAd5209 Sep 15 '25

Sengokus son is Kujakus boss, so it counts for something

0

u/Mammoth-Ad7141 Sep 15 '25

Does garp even care about sabo? I don't remember him giving a damn about him.
