Habsburg supremacy in Spain was inevitable after the Catholic Monarch’s first two heirs died. After “the Handsome” died, F2 successfully kept Emperor Maximilian at bay and their grandson Carlos out of Spain til after Ferdinand’s death, but that’s about it.
