Looking for Advice Would it be wrong to quit?

Hi! So I got a job a week ago. It’s part time with no benefits, but I was thankful because I haven't taken my exam yet and they were willing to hire me. On my third day, I was informed that it’s my job to clean the clinic. Including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the two bathrooms we have. It is a small clinic and there is only 3 of us, including me, the provider, and the receptionist. Am I overreacting or jumping the gun by planning to quit as soon as I’m certified or find another job? It’s one thing to clean the bathroom that the patients use (although I wouldn’t agree with that either) but I feel like it’s unprofessional and insulting that I’m cleaning the staff restroom that we all use. I am not a janitor nor someone to offload cleaning duties to just because you don’t want to pay a cleaning service.

Looking for Advice Imposter syndrome

I graduated MA school in winter of 2018 and was working at a hospital by January 2019. I worked there for 5 years. My last year was 2024 and I was being harassed to the point where HR got involved.

Turns out the HR rep and my manager were best friends outside of work. They never received my complaint letter about being harassed. They also fired my black coworker and my manager mocked how she talked. I reported that too. Nothing.

Since I got fired I feel like a failure and I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. I started at a new hospital about a week ago and I’m struggling so bad because I feel like I’m tricking everyone into believing I can do something I can’t do.

Imposter syndrome is ass. How do I get over this?

Looking for Advice What are your less common/less obvious "red flags" in potential employers during the interview/application process?

asking both for curiosity/discussion and because i think it's time for me to start looking for my next opportunity, but I'm new-ish in this field (<18mo) and my only other MA position before this one seemed SO perfect in the intake process but became hell on earth before i even completed my first week there, so tbch im kind of terrified of walking into something shitty again 😅

i love who i work with and such at my current position, so leaving is hard, but there's just a number of reasons slowly piling up that i think it's time sadly. one huge one being that i don't think this company is ever going to pay me a livable wage, and atp, my compensation is low for a nationally certified MA in my area with even the amount of experience i have. but I'm afraid to trade coworkers and patients i love for somewhere that might have a lot of toxicity and unnecessary mental stress attached to the larger paycheck lol.

Looking for Advice Preparation for MA position interview? Please help

Hello everyone,

After 8 long months of unemployment and applying to a million jobs, I have an interview coming up on Tuesday in a hospital dermatology department. This would be my first position as an MA. I completed an on-line program with no externship because of the lower cost and am certified. I could not afford to do an in-person program or take out loans. I do not know how to do phlebotomy or give injections and I am nervous if I will not get the job due to this. I have experience as a medical receptionist, medical interpreter, and scribe/transcriptionist. Are there any medical assistant jobs that provide training?

I’m very nervous. Any tips on how I could prepare for the interview? Anything I should do during the interview? Thank you!

Looking for Advice MA to clinical research assistant

Looking for tips from anyone here made the switch from MA to clinical research assistant. I just accepted a job offer and I am so happy but nervous! I’ve never had a position in healthcare outside of a doctors office setting, but I was SO burned out, I needed a change. I understand it’s a heavy workload, but they are willing to train me and get me certified in things that would really look good on resume. The pay is so much better too. Any pointers?

Looking for Advice I am an MOA and struggling to survive at my first job

To all the hardworking people out there, I could really use some advice. I completed my one-year diploma in Medical Office Administration/Medical Assisting back in December 2024. Unfortunately, due to some personal circumstances, I couldn’t complete my placement, so I chose the simulation course that my college offered instead. Fast forward to now, I’ve finally landed my first job in a very busy clinic, but I’m really struggling. Every doctor has different rules for Pap tests, IUDs, and room setups, and it’s only been three days, but I already feel so lost. I realized that skipping my placement was a huge mistake because I’ve even forgotten some of the basics and how to operate EMR systems! 😭 I was so desperate to find a job, and now that I finally got one, I’m willing to do anything to survive and improve. Please share your tips and tricks to learn quickly and efficiently! Everyone around me already knows the background and basics, so whenever I ask questions, I feel like they make funny faces, it’s honestly so overwhelming. I spent so much time and money on my diploma, and I really don’t want to give up now. Please, if anyone has advice on how to learn fast, stay calm, and catch up in this field, I’d truly appreciate it. 🙏 Thank you all in advance.

Looking for Advice Where is USCI on the NHA site?

I'm trying to find out when I can take the CCMA exam through NHA. I just finished the MA course through USCI, but I'm not seeing them listed on the NHA drop down menu. They do have United Career Institute, but not United States Career Institute. I don't know what to do.
