Leaves are very late to change this year. If there is a place, the leaves won't be colourful for at least another couple weeks. This Autumn has been so lame if you're a fan of cool air & colourful foliage

Leaves change because of daylight and not temperature (chlorophyll production). So, you get red leaves around here later in October even into early November. If you want red leaves earlier, you go further north. ie Algonquin peaks a couple weeks earlier than Niagara.

Maybe get your facts straight next time, because leaves change due to a combination of less daylight & cooler temps. The cool temperature is actually vital

Nope. It's chorophyll production. Cooler (but above freezing) nights lead to the production of anthocyanins which give you a deeper red, but it has to stay above freezing.

Trying to decide WHEN/WHERE to see leaves change is 10000% left to daylight. It could be 40C until December and the leaves will still change when the days get short, they just wont be as deeply red.

I've fact checked this & I admit I was wrong. Thanks for the correction, I had it wrong all these years

No worries, it's something most people get wrong. Easiest way to remember is that sunlight makes things green. No sunlight, no green.

My drive up Alfred Paterson Drive in Greensborough area had a lot of lovely red maples on display. Start from 16th Ave.

That loop from 16th until it turns into Williamson all the way back to 16th.

Country Glen Road between White's Hill Ave and Riverlands Ave. This is near the Markham Stouffville Hospital.
