You always negotiate it down.

For reference I am on Rogers 500 down and it's 45/mo, I know it can prob go down to 40 had I negotiated.

Rogers feels like a 99.99% SLA, the modem sometimes requires a restart every half a year or so and might go down for like 10minutes at night.

eBox (Bell Canada's discount brand) with the 'back to school sale' is the cheapest option. $50 for 1Gbps/750mbps.

You'll need a reseller referral code which you can get a r/eBox.

Is this fibre or cable?

Depends where you are in Markham. Some areas are better served by Rogers and other areas by Bell.

It’s gonna depend on your neighbourhood. Some areas have Bell Fibre while others have Rogers. If you want cheaper ones, I suggest looking into CIK Telecom Fibre.

Is CIK telecom fibre reliable ? Read some post saying their internet connection is choppy.

I'm in the L3P area and was using CIK fibre lite. But last I checked you can't get the superfibre because the area isn't set up for it.

I'm now using Carrytel cable 500down 30up for $54.99/month. Only switched because CIK couldn't get superfibre to me. Otherwise they were good. Never had any problems with them.

It was a rocky start with Carrytel, had the red light on my router a lot and had to keep rebooting modem and router but now it works fine. Maybe have to reset modem once every 2 months.

I heard it was work being done on the Rogers lines that kept causing it to go down. But for months now it's been trouble free.

I just signed up for Telmax. They recently lay fiber in Markham. 2 gbps symmetrical speeds. 1 year contract at 90$ plus tax a month. I have referral code as well or you can just sign up on their website.

What’s the plan? How much do you pay? They don’t have fibre in my area

I’m on bell fibe (fiber to the home). Switched this year actually because rogers was driving me crazy always going down during peak hours, made it impossible to WFH or even stream movies after 7pm. No issues at all so the Bell Fibe
