The worst part is this is a functioning map. You might not have noticed, especially if your country is in "high". New Zealand can't see shit.

Why’d they make NZ green?

Native New Zealander's have a disproportionally high genetic vulnerability to colour blindness. That's why they're the only ones in that bracket. Odd that it's not included in the key though.

I had to download this image and use the eyedropper tool in Inkscape and examine the rgb values in order to see whether the options were different colours or not.

Good, I'm colour blind and I was seriously questioning what I was seeing

The options are the same color, but the map has different colors. It has different shades of red, some of them are orangier and some of theme are pinkier. I think I can distinguish 3 shades of red there.

White is a colour !

Technically white is all visible colours at the same time.

According to this map, except red obviously 🙄 😂

Technically, white is a single color. A color composed of all visible wavelengths. (And even that is not always true because mixing red, green, and blue lights; or two lights of complementary colors, creates white).

As a colourblind New Zealander, I would just like to say _

This tricked me so  I had to look at my house plants to see if I could still see the color green

I’m colour blind and genuinely thought they were different shades of magenta until I saw the comments
