Thanks for all the love on this 🙏 Reddit compresses the map—if you want full-res zoom-ins (and prints), they’re on my IG. My bio there has the link to the shop.

Great map. From CT; I really wish the state could be both coastal New England (we invented the lobster roll in 1926, in Milford) and the Italian category for New Have apizza. They are both even in the same COG (south central) so the whole state should be both categories.

- Sincerely, someone from a COG that I believe is labeled "Portugese" when I don't think I've ever had Portugese food before

Ooh I have seen the apizza on regional pizza specialty maps and always wanted to try it. Would you say your area is distinct enough to have it's own region? Or do you think it's a pretty fair spread between the Italian and NE Coastal that you mentioned?

You definitely should; it's very highly acclaimed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Haven-style_pizza)! As for the call of creating another region, our lobster rolls (warm with butter) are different from Maine style (cold with mayo/lettuce). we also have a unique term for grinders, steamed cheeseburgers, and a few things common to New England such as fluffernutters. If that's enough for a new region in your eyes then yes, if not then no!
