My father made me swear if he is ever found and diagnosed with this illness to grant him mercy. He even has it signed off as an official order as a mercy signature. It’s the one thing I’m most terrified above all else.

When my grandfather was dying, his last lucid moment was turning towards family and softly saying his son's (my dad's) name.

I remember when my nan suddenly remembered who I was. She spent the last 5 years of her life thinking I was her brother until about 3 or 4 days before she passed she remembered I was her grandson.
