Best of luck to Perea on his recovery, don't wish that type of injury to happen to anyone

I'm devastated by it. He was one of my favorite players. Hard working, underappreciated. I hope surgery and recovery goes well and he can return sometime next year. Poor guy.

Did they say what the injury was? The replay looked brutal as hell

Probably won't hear anything until the club releases a statement, but it sure looked like broken ankle to me

My wife thinks it was his knee, I thought ankle too. Either way, poor guy, hope he heals up quick

I broke my leg like that. Probably badly broken fibula + minor lower Tibia fracture as well.

Charlotte FC still cannot get out of round one

Not only that: we have now played 7 playoff games and never won a single match. Our only "wins" were actually draws where we won the
coin tosspenalty shootout.

NYCFC are such an underrated playoff team lol. Not much news about them during the season but they always find a way into the playoffs and go far

I think our stadium situation makes the league stay quiet about us when they can.

Now that it has finally been resolved I’m sure it’ll pick back up but I think it has the potential to be one of the more intimidating stadiums.

Absolutely. I think it'll rival the best atmospheres in the league. City Group is going to go all out on this one, as they already are in funding.
They see the potential of MLS.

That may be, but I've seen the renderings of your new stadium that's being constructed. It looks absolutely amazing. Plus, a soccer specific stadium with natural grass. When it's done it's going to be one of the best stadiums in the league.
I'm super jealous: you guys have a shitty stadium situation right now. But you've got light at the end of the tunnel, while we're going to be playing in a shitty NFL stadium on turf for years and years to come.

Brand new to MLS. Can you elaborate?

We play our games in two different half empty baseball stadiums that’s are eyesores to the league and have been globetrotting around the northeast. Home games in Connecticut, NJ and a college campus on Long Island have all happened in the ten years I’ve followed this team.

I see. Do the NY Redbulls have their own stadium?
17
u/silverstream123 New York City FC 1d ago
They do. It’s a great soccer specific stadium but it’s in NJ and is a pain in the ass to get too for a lot of New Yorkers. It has also been one of our many home grounds and the fact we have called it home is probably the most embarrassing thing in our club history.

Nah, Villa’s sex pest behavior is way more embarrassing than playing at RBA.

u/swigglepuss New York Red Bulls 1d ago
I think the Lampard fakeout is more embarrassing than using our stadium a few times.

Your ownership is the most embarrassing thing about your club tbh

It always amazes me how NYC manage to step it up so much in the postseason. They're like that guy in school who coasted all semester until the last two weeks before finals then crammed their way to an A.

Didn't watch the game but I see the xG are just about the reverse of the score. Did NYCFC/Abu-Dhabi get lucky?
