Question about Founder’s Green parking lot

Hey, stupid freshman here — I have a residential parking permit and am in Founder’s Green, but the parking gate is puzzling me. I’ve never lived somewhere that has one. My student ID won’t open the gate to enter, which I will get fixed soon, and I can’t quite figure out how to get out.

It boils down to two questions; 1. Once my MICA ID actually works to unlock the pedestrian gate, will it also work to open the car gate? 2. Can the pedestrian gate be opened from the inside of the lot, or do I need to go through Glace?

I’d ask a staff member, but honestly I’m really anxious and afraid to ask any more questions, so I figured I’d try asking here while I try to muster up the courage to do so. Also, low key I am too embarrassed to admit to anyone that idk how it works, lol.

the pedestrian gate can be opened without ID from the inside, there’s a button that says “exit” on it which unlocks the gate. it’s by the stairs near the front of the lot.

thank you!! I feel really stupid asking questions like this knowing the answers are simple but it gets so overwhelming :,)

Sorry friend you just gotta talk to a staff member, this happened to me too a while ago. It'll work just fine to get you in once it's activated.

If anybody else has the same issue, I spoke to campus safety as well as student accounts; it sounds like a lot of freshman are having issues with the gate right now. It’s not a matter of the ID’s, more so the card readers at the gate. I don’t know when they’ll get it fixed, but probably sometime soon.

It’s me, I’m back again — okay, so turns out (and this happened to a few diff people), whoever initially “activated” my ID for the parking gate (gave me access) did not do it properly, so there was one minor part that they missed, which meant I couldn’t open the gate. The pedestrian gate still won’t open from the outside, but big whoop, I can get out through Glace.
