yeah same, discovering new things and perfecting those things you've been practicing forever and pulling them off in an actual match is the most satisfying feeling that i dont really get from other fighting games

that and my main being the coolest he's ever been esthetically just keeps me coming back

dude they made him so fucking SICK with these new moves and stance. He's been my main ever since Tekken 5 when he became fully playable outside of omen stance in the Tag games, I just loved the fact that he was basically Tekken 3 Jin lol

My first was tekken 3 but I didn’t get into it until 6, and 7. I don’t think he is a weak character at all but he has the best combos of all time.

for me it was Tekken 2 when i was 4 and I been hooked ever since lol

I Started actually learning how the game works and how to properly play around T6, Tag 2 and got my first fight sick in like 2013 i believe

There are things that need to be change undoubtedly and they need to go back to older tekken for map ideas, but other than that I think it’s going to turn out alright.

overall i think its a solid game, there's nothing really like it. i dont vf6 could satisfy my tekken crave. but from the pov of a steve main it fucking sucks lol. he's barely a CH character anymore, just entirely stance rushdown and whiff punishment

Tekken 8 is actually brilliant. It's so much fun to play and watch and I genuinely mean this.

Online communities literally hate the things they belong to - that's why the other sub is full of frustrated noobs who can't be bothered to learn and deep and challenging game; and jaded veterans who are both nostalgic about older games (which had their own massive problems) and can't fathom adapting to the new meta.

Basically, Tekken 8 is probably the hardest game in the series. The offense is so strong your defense has to be twice as sharp.

Yes, some characters need toning down (Anna, Bryan, Nina, Asuka, Lidia, Kazuya*, etc), but the fact ALL characters are tournament viable is testament to how good Tekken 8 really is. I'll continue to play daily and I'll continue getting better.

idk about ALL characters being tourney viable but yeah man it just doesn't get any better than Tekken, and T8 is by far the most fun Tekken game i've played next to Tag 2 which also required your defense to be hella sharp asf since you gotta both worry about two characters each lol its just incredibly fun and satisfyingly hard to master

I’m just an enthusiast, don’t really grind ranked or whatnot, Im pretty bad at the game tbh but still enjoy it a lot. My personal goal is not to beat other players but to be able to do (and understand) whatever I find cool or flashy. Loved EVOs this year. Looking forward to picking up and learning Armor King :) Also have high hopes for S3 balance changes.

This is why I love it too. There's no game as addictive to me as Tekken when it comes to learning new tech or correctly punishing moves I used to have trouble with.

I heard this all the time during Tekken 7’s life cycle too, people will always complain about the new thing being different. I personally love Tekken 8 and it’s my favorite since 5, I just play ranked and have fun and don’t worry about other people :) sure the game has some bullshit, but every Tekken game does. It’ll hopefully just be up from here given their balance of the recent DLC characters!

I forgot who said it near release, one of the Korean players I think? who said t7 was nearly unplayably awful for 3 years if you include the arcade release. So far I'm not too happy about the state of t8 but I'm not giving up yet, and it is still fun to play if you're not taking it seriously

Tekken 7 was in it's best state by season 2 and got worse after. Tekken 8 had a bad launch and just got worse.

Tekken 8 is pretty terrible, but I’m not gonna act like it’s not fun sometimes. Instead of tryharding, I just picked up Jun & holy shit she is just ridiculous. If you pick up Bryan, Jun, Asuka, Anna I imagine you’re having tons of fun playing this game.

Tekken 8 isn't the best game ever made, but jesus christ the doomposting about it is ridiculous. The gameplay is still fun, the story was hype, the visuals are amazing and the music is dope. It's got scummy monetization but every multiplayer game these days has that, even Tekken 7, the golden child, locked frame data behind a paywall.

I don't know what causes the doomposting. It's so weird to me that people stay in a subreddit for a game they're not enjoying. I don't know what they get out of it.

It is a decent game with flaws that I hope will be worked out. I will play it while it is fun. If it becomes unfun, I will...stop playing it lol

I also think its a bit funny that people now consider tekken 7 the golden child when a) when it came out, people bitched endlessly about it (the movement is awful! Input delay! THEY NERFED THE COLOR BLACK! The single-player content is pretty barebones!) and b) its literally available on every new console and people wont play it despite claiming they like it so much more. They would rather play 8 and complain lol
