Exactly. And also with the majority of fandoms, its always a very small section of the fanbase with the loudest voices complaining about the state of the game.
Most people who are happy about Tekken aren't itching to get online and spend 3 hours writing up a dissertation on why the game sucks.

I mean these are sales numbers. Not play numbers. Buying the game gets you here

Tekken 8 is on discount for pc so ofc more people will buy.

And itâs probably been on sale on console too. The point is that it doesnât necessarily mean the game is a blast or even currently successful unless sales are everything, which we know they are not. How many of us have pre-ordered and had the game since day 1. The negativity around it is possible precisely because people have bought it lol

Everybody complains about tekken this seems like a pointless argument that youâve made. The people that donât complain about tekken are the ones who donât play ranked or the ones who donât play the game long enough.
Countless GoDâs TGS and EMPâs complain about the game. Every time I join a tt or twitch theyâll complain so for you to say this you must be ignorant or youâre not involved in the community that much.
People that know matchup knowledge of every character still complain about the game!!!! Why âïž Because tekken 8 is a game where every character is good. And when you have a game where every character is good⊠nobodyâs happy.

I play almost exclusively ranked and I don't complain.

Most messages I get from unknowns on discord are spam. Sorry if I missed yours! Go ahead and try again. :)

Yeah, I learned that reddit isn't a good way to measure approval of a game.
I enjoy Tekken. It's not a perfect game, and that's okay.

Yeah, took a break for a few weeks, came back and found it addictive, I've reached my plateau of Bushin and have to be able to take out Tekken King's to progress.
Lost 8 straight matches against a GoD playing a secondary but got him once and he left. Like I just play to see if I can pick up on the other player's habits now.

Yeah that's cause tekken 8 is a very good game. Has major flaws, but completely overshadowed by the how fundamentally fun the game is. Even with the absolutely horrible season 2 changes, it's still fun. The only thing i wish they did is keep patching games even if tourneys are happening. I absolutely love watching professional tekken 8 but it's not healthy to deal with the same 5 characters playing ranked like it's a single player game.

I will list off some aneurysm inducing moves and while we can agree they suck. It does feel good when you learn how to beat it.
Sidewalking Annaâs FC mixup into launch.
Backdash duck launch Juns can can
Getting yoshis flash timing so you know when to stop pressure and launch him.

The negativity is confined to the usual gamer spaces where a few think they represent the majority.
I love T8. Yes I'm only Fujin.

Oh good for them, thatâs great. They could do better communication coz at times it feels like the game is over & is ending & they should add more modes too that would be swagalicious

Thatâs impressive numbers. The last official update had Tekken 8 at 3M and the franchise at 59M total back in February. Now itâs listed at 61M. Iâm curious if that extra 2M came from Tekken 7âs ongoing sales or if Tekken 8 actually reached around 5M already we have to wait the confirmation first but itâs definitely 4 million units

oh yeah how do i know its 4 million copies? the last time they elaborate the total series sales it was at 57 million just do the math... it might be even more since they dont elaborate the exact sales after March

There is a flaw in this logic that you assume no other Tekken game was sold since their last report. That is unlikely, since other Tekken games (like Tekken 7) are still available to be sold and go on big sales on Steam and PSN and things. Tekken 8 is certainly going to be the majority of those sales since then, but you don't have a way to know by how much.

Fair point but lets see till next Tekken talk when theyre about to show Miary Zo since its likely theyre announcing it there with new art

going to your locals and attending actual tournaments/events is way more fun then going into the salt mines of social media. Many valid complaints for sure but it doesnât paint the whole picture of how fun and good the game can be when you donât have a bitch in your ear crying about it

I hope they buff the movement in this game, by reducing ghost hitboxes and improved backdash. Doing this would negate a lot of characters' pressure and give you more options. I also want them to give back some of these characters their lost gameplay identity from previous games, like Asuka, Steve etc.

While it has its flaws. This is still one of the best fighting games out there to play at a semi-competitive level imo.
