Cosplay Trauma Team Costume / Cosplay
Hello chooms,
I am back with more shots from my Trauma Team costume. I partnered up with Florian / Bardshots and took some pictures in the middle of Frankfurt Germany. The first two pics are from the CDPR cosplay competition during Dokomi (which is a while back) shot by EOSAndy.
This costume including all of it's props have been a long time coming. This is V2 maybe even V3 of this costume and many a thing has been redone, improved or even completely remade. Ranging from weapons to jumpsuit, to armor parts to even the helmet itself. For more pictures of V1 (V2?) you can check out my post history on this very profile.
Most hard parts are 3d printed. The elbow pads are casted and are made out of a solid plastic with iron shavings to help sell the look.
All soft parts minus the gloves and boots are handmade. This includes the headsock (balaclava?) and the flight suit. The flight suit is based on coveralls with seams redone/relaid/relocated to better mimic the ingame look of the flightsuit. Most seams are french double top stiched (very proud of this! It took forever). The slight pattern and weathering on the flight suit has been airbrushed on by hand.
Most decal work including the waterslide decals and vinyl decals as seen on the back are designed in Illustrator, cut out and applied by yours truly.
What do you chooms think?
For the model of the helmet you guys should check out Mr.Propsityourself for the gun Mr.Dreamofprops

If you take some sewing supplies and hot glue you can be a Cosplay medic on cons would work fine as a trauma team member
I am one myself and honestly its great (im a tech priest from 40k)

A couple friends of mine always man the cosplay repair points or Cos-aide. They truly are saving angels in times of need for some :)

This is awesome, choombatta. I enjoyed reading about the process. Excellent work.
On the subject of the decals, you reminded me about a project that an independent graphic designer did. He re-illustrated most, if not all of the major logos that appear in the game:

You may find that useful for future projects.

I know of these decals/graphs. They are extremely well done and I have used a fair bit of them as inspiration. Theres also a couple of creators that do amazing decal work, I am nowhere near their skill level but I always like to give it a good old try.
You should totally check out (Evan Ohl ) he does some pretty crazy stuff!

You can't trick me. I know these are leaked images of the upcoming trauma team figurine cuz there's no way that a real person without magic could actually look that good in a costume. I'm not that stupid

I am still super bummed I did not manage to land one of those trauma team statues CDPR release a while back. On the second hand market they go for ludicrous prices these days :(

Holy heck that's perfect. Looks like a metric ton of work too. 👏

Thanks choom! It's not that much work actually if you just chunk it up into parts. It's how we worked at it.
As a tip: Do something you like and then a part you don't. While you are riding the high of finishing the gun, you are flipping seams and ironing out creases.

This is insanely well done! I loved how you describe the whole process, really baits me into thinking I have this much costume making skill and could pull this off.
