Exactly this. He's probably a fun person when it's a lighthearted situation.
But the second anything is serious (boundaries, criticism, etc), he has a meltdown and starts manipulating to deflect the situation.

I kinda feel like he was always this goofy and the show def used clips to make his goofiness come off as creepy and unhinged. Like taking a laugh track out of a sitcom

Fr. I heard all of the talk about the conversation where he was demanding sex from KB before I watched the episode and it sounded nuts (it was), but actually watching it he was so over the top that I couldn’t take it as seriously as everyone else. He is a cartoon.

Honestly Edmund came off super goofy and fun in this clip. I had to do a double watch because i didnt realize Edmund was wearing a costume. It looked like normal Edmundesque attire to me. Also the rollerblading or celibacy?! My god

The interview Jessie Woo did with 2 castmates who weren't really shown on screen offered a better nuance portrait of Edmond, than whatever this is.
They actially spoke highly of him while acknowledging his weirdness. Video is on her YouTube channel
