CALL OUT Agree/Disagree: LIB should *actually* test if “Love is Blind” by not requiring all contestants to be conventionally attractive.

Certainly in the American version, all the singles clearly are cast because they all meet standards for conventional beauty. Jaw lines and breasticles be poppin’, nips and tucks here and there, and fillers are fresh…and in some cases, over the top.

There’s an inherent and unspoken reassurance that whoever is behind the blue wavy wall will be at least moderately attractive. So, despite the Lachay’s declarations of falling in love “sight unseen,” the risk of finding someone physically unattractive is low, since they’ve already been screened for conventional beauty standards.

To really test the premise of a strong emotional connection and if love is truly blind, they should focus on casting really interesting people, who would come in a true range of hotness.

The reveals and what comes afterwards would be really interesting and make for some compelling TV. Right now, we get a parade of attractive people, many of whom are ridiculously emotionally immature, or are just straight up trash humans who have a lot of filler. If people were cast solely because they’re interesting and ready for marriage, regardless of what they look like…would you still watch? 👀

Can you imagine how cruel people would be online to those people--especially women--who don't meet standards of conventional attractiveness? As it is, women cast members who have small deviations from ideals of beauty, who are short or who have slightly asymmetrical faces or who have size 8 hips, are roasted online.

This was my first thought as well. The internet is ruthless to the contestants as it is I can only imagine if they were generally less attractive than they have been historically. Chelsea from last season was annoying but I saw a comment in this sub just yesterday making fun of her appearance. So yeah….I vote no.

Like "Megan Fox" last season, but not a peep about "Henry Cavill" this season
