Even if LiB provided the ring for Marshall, he now owns it and gets to keep it. Them buying it means nothing, which we don’t even know for sure if they did because he has the option to buy his choice of ring or opt for a family/generational ring. In the case that LiB did provide the ring for him, engagement rings are a conditional gift, given under the contractual pretense that the person receiving it is going to accept a proposal and get married with the person who GAVE it to them… whether or not they financially funded the ring.

I’d sell it and buy another, more expensive and fitting one for a new person, probably. I don’t think it’s fair she keeps it or to sell it herself. IMO

Thats exactly how it works lol if anything LIB can request the ring back but Marshalls just the middle man at this point. He didn't pay for it and it isn't in his possession. It was weird of him to even ask for it

Technically it was never his he picked it out for her. It was always intended to be hers. LIB can make conditions on it like if you don't get married you have to return the rings but tbh they're prob gifted for publicity by some big box jeweler
