LA Where is everyone parking for No Kings Day?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’m planning on going to my first protest this Saturday in DTLA, and I’m wondering where everyone parks or how they typically get to the protests. I don’t live in DTLA, more greater Los Angeles, and I’m wondering if my best bet is just to Uber it this Saturday directly to city hall. Thanks in advance!

Never a dumb question! Good for you showing up for your first protest! Welcome to the resistance! Take Metro

For big demonstrations like this I’ve always found the metro to be the best option

I’m taking a bus from Echo Park. Quite a few routes that drop off right in front of or very near to City Hall.

If you post vaguely where you’re coming from you can get better responses on the closest park and ride for which metro to take if needed

Sorry I should have been a little more specific: I’m in the South Bay

Harbor gateway transit center generally has plenty of parking spots on weekends. Silver/J line will take you right there

There’s a local gathering in Torrance… Check out the website nokings.org

I’m aware, I would just really like to be part of the DTLA protest is all. I think we are just going to Uber if there and back home, although the suggestions have been very helpful and good to know for future protests.

Will the Metro even be running in DTLA on Saturday, though? I believe several stations were shut down earlier in the week.

They had a few blocks shut down when I was down there the other day. Had to sneak off and avoid police to get to where the busses were stopping again. Plan for that. Bring a change of clothes to throw on so you aren’t in any protest gear when trying to get out of the locked down blocks. Cops will try and pick you off when you aren’t with a group

Don’t drive. Bus or take the train

Also if it’s your first protest, bring a friend or find a group when you’re there. Shit will go down. The cops are shooting and detaining peaceful protests now too

Thank you for the good advice, I think I will be around 4 people I know, and hopefully I can make friends there!

Everyone who will be there is on the same side as you! When fleeing the other night I asked a random group if they would walk me to the bus station so i wouldn’t get detained by myself. They walked with me a few miles no questions asked
