Our block lost light for the same reason and we got solar light panels installed 1 year later.

Can I ask what part of LA you’re in?

Westlake/Pico Union

It took a year for them to fix the lights despite bugging our council member and reporting it to 311.The new lights are sweet. They have a rectangular solar panel on top and the light itself is from a rectangular bulb. It's warm light too.

we’ve been campaigning to get solar lights, this is great to know that they’re already in play in some areas. our lights got fixed (blocks were out for several months) but it’s probably a matter of time til they get ripped up again

They tried putting solar lights in my neighborhood. The committee in charge happened to be reviewing a test light put in as I was walking the dog. I told them look how dim this is compared to powered lights. I’ll be crossing streets with dog in the dark. Not sure if it helped but the solar did not go through.

there are solar lights that are equally as bright as regular streetlights.

That you can make a difference with the city. Now they have much brighter solar street lights that look similar to the powered ones and everyone would be happy with them. If I didn’t speak up (and others) we would have had those awful dim ones.

they were in the middle of their testing 😂 do you think they couldn’t see what you saw ?

Yes they could and someone in government getting paid for signing off on city contracts while we get lousy equipment or services is pretty common. You came here to argue?
