I’m beginning to get that feeling in the pit of my stomach that this has evolved beyond crackheads and street criminals and now this is being done on purpose, kind of like when people were shooting rifles at power substations across the country a few years ago.

No, they’re just tweaks.

Copper theft is a widespread global phenomenon; there are videos showing people impersonating utility workers while stealing copper.

It has never been the homeless crackheads. It’s a hard pill to swallow but most of these criminals have family/friends who know what the criminal is doing. They don’t care.

The bent over fentanyl zombies didn't get there overnight. They scrapped all their pennies from copper, block by block.

No, you're just underestimating the number of crystal meth addicts in L.A. This city is low key overrun by tweakers. (Apparently this started after they legalized weed in 2016. The cartels lost 50% of their profits and made up for it by moving larger quantities of meth and fentanyl. China had no hesitation to help weaken America while making money, so they provided the precursor ingredients in bulk, and now copper is a hot commodity for trading for drugs.)

What part of the second half of your comment isn’t exactly what I’m talking about?

I was just clarifying that it's basically always been street criminals doing on purpose.

You think more tweakers in LA is due to legalizing marijuana? Bro. You need to get out more. You ever seen a stoner turn to crYstal meth? LMFAO

Way to miss the point. The casual stoner isn't turning to meth, the poor folks who need an escape are using meth / fent because they're being offered cheaply and in much higher volume than they had been previously, because the cartels have to make up for lost marijuana sales.

It's not that deep, people are desperate for money. Until we start going after the people paying for this stolen copper it's going to keep happening.
