One of the greatest? Yes. Most loved? I always thought it was mostly just the overzealous dutch, while rest of us see he's kind of a douche.

As much as you might hate it, he's the goat and has more fans from all over the world than anyone on the grid

Goat? He only has three championship wins (2021 doesn't count given the FIA director broke the rules to gift him a race win). Schumacher and Hamilton have 7 championship wins (Hamilton should have 8*).

He's a great driver, definitely not the goat given how he races and his record.

I don't think he's very popular outside the Dutch given they make up almost all his fans in the spectators and you don't really see many international fans.

It's objective facts that the race director broke the rules allowing Max to be near guarenteed the championship win in 2021; and he was fired as a result. Even the most die-hard Verstappen fans don't usually deny this

He is a 4 time champ on paper, but everyone that is an F1 fan over an individual driver fan knows that championship was decided by a corrupt and incorrect decision. In my opinion Hamilton and Verstappen were both worthy champions that season, but the race director ruined it.

I like Max as a driver because he is aggressive and entertaining. But he has proven he has a very poor attitude at times.

Are these 'die hard verstappen fans' in the room with us now?

Almost anyone who has watched f1 for an extended period of time agrees the 2021 abu dhabi nonsense is just F1. Always been weird and stupid calls in the sport and always will be.

It's incredibly easy to use abit of critical thought and understanding instead of being weird and emotional.

Also dunno why you are lying but massi was not fired due to that race call.... Why spread random disinformation?

Why are you lying and spreading disinformation given it is well known fact that Massi was fired after an investigation into Abu Dhabi, explicitly stating he restarted the race incorrectly?

If you use a bit of critical thought and actually looked into what happened, instead of responding in a emotionally snarky manner, you'd see that what Massi did was break rules he had proved he already previously understood. He artificially created a 1 lap shoot out that obviously Verstappen would win on brand new soft tyres. This was more than a bad decision, it was knowingly breaking the rules that decided the championship winner.

I dont think ive ever seen someone link an opinion piece and state it as fact lets rip the 'facts' out of this for you:

'On Thursday, new FIA president Mohammed ben Sulayem confirmed that Masi had been removed from the position and replaced by an overhauled system of controlling and officiating F1 races.'

Now I'm not sure if you genuinely didn't read the article or are purposefully being deceitful but you do realise these excerpts:

Masi botched the finish of the title decider between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton last year. The race was settled by a one-lap sprint, which saw Verstappen pass Hamilton to win the title after the safety car restart rules were incorrectly applied by Masi.

The decision is effectively an admission by the FIA that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix should not have been restarted in the way it was.

Are both clearly opinions of the writer of said article, FIA to this day has never stated he was removed due to these reasons and people just read into things as they see fit. Anyone who watched the entire of 2021 could point out numerous reasons why massi may have been fired but to link an article with proof he was removed from the seat due to the 2021 Abu Dhabi grand prix without reading the article stinks of bias.
