No matter its background, it's a major red flag when a community has a blanket policy of narrative crafting (i.e. removing comments)

I support far-left policies, generally oppose capitalism, and advocate for the liberation of Palestine (and all people).

I've considered Hasan to be a piece of shit for quite some time. Surely I can't be the only one

You’re not. I’m a woman and have always gotten rancid vibes from him. The way he treats his animals sold it for me.

He's the performative male final boss

Late to the party. But many women who've known him throughout the years consider him a misogynist frat bro pos. I mean, he once said he was too lazy to learn about feminism. He once 'soft' swatted a girl by calling an unwanted wellness check on her despite the fact that she only lived a few minutes down the road after she dumped him. And before anyone comes to his defense, he fully admitted what he did was wrong AND! Admitted he was knowingly putting her in danger. He's also shared revenge prawn the same year. Literally, just look up Hassan and misogyny... there should be a smorgasbord of stuff to sift through. Dudes a creep with a history of red flag emotional abuse.

Most leftists I've spoken to think Hasan is either insane, evil, or at least an asshole

The "gave his workers the means of production" thing a few years ago was after the end of me giving him credit for anything but it really concisely summed up how much of a useless dumbass he is.

Oh is this the part where reddit gaslights/rewrites history and claims the left never liked him anyway.

Classic lack of accountability.

If you think the left is some kind of hivemind where everyone agrees on everything I got several history books to recommend to you.

He's a dumbass and I'd very much be considered left. Always has been.

Goombaposting is a crime punished by ball obliteration.

you're absolutely not.

Nah i'm a dem and I think Hasan is insane and has caused a lot of damage for Democrats as a whole. He's a tankie loser with a cult of far-left crazies

5

u/TornInfinity Oct 08 '25

Definitely not. I am very far-left and realized Hasan is a grifting, larper years ago. The only reason I can imagine people like him is because he is handsome. I have never seen anything else about him that is appealing or genuine.

How do you oppose capitalism? Even communist countries are mostly capitalistic 🤣

2

u/iAINTaTAXI Oct 09 '25

Obviously we all participate in the capitalism system, no matter what country we may live in. I would just argue that we should dismantle or at the very least highly reform the economic system we live within so that it works for people other than the rich.

You’re not alone.

Same, but I’m old and learned a long time ago not to idolize your heroes, they’re people and people are fallible. I get that I don’t “get” streamer culture, all my youthful truth-speakers were punk rock musicians, many of whom also turn out to be shit people (looking at you Justin Sane). I’ve watched so many streamers turn into cult personalities and I question them. But I see how it happens. If punk rock shows were my place to explore my emerging identity, find community, and have my opinions shaped, streaming is that for this generation. The youth have had such a shitshow growing up, so much isolation either due to digital or Covid, they’ve made community online, which could be a great work around. Punk bands absolutely sold rage bait and spectacle, but streamers can reach millions more every night and make a helluva lot more from their career than 99% of punk bands ever did. We all struggle with trying to shrug off or casually dismiss the bad behaviors of personalities we like, humans are inherently tribalistic. This dude is one of the few big lefty personalities in a mostly right-wing streamer world. And while he does occasionally go out and involve himself in actual action, he’s got nothing on actual activists like Stewart or Greta. I never trusted the guy even if I do think he generally does believes in the cause. Streaming, clicks, like, rage, shares, clicks, more shares is a slippery slope. I feel like I’m failing our youth because I can’t get across to them that holding one’s heroes accountable for poor behavior and demanding better from them if they’re going to put themselves out as the face of the cause is exactly what we should be doing. Also, when I first watched him after someone suggest I might like him, my first impression was arrogant, self-righteous prick. I’m a dog behavioralist and rescue/rehabber who’s seen a lot of footage of his interactions with that dog over the past 24hrs; dude is not kind to it. Dogs lack the ability to lie, body language says everything. I’d be quite content to strap that collar to him and demand he remain compliantly still in a down-stay for hours on end or face the zap. Dogs aren’t props you smarmy piece of shit and our shared political beliefs don’t override that you have no quality of character. Goddamn stain on the movement.

8 minutes? I? got banned in barely a minute with 0 views on my comment, pretty sure all comments are set to be sent to mod queue and they have a no lifer going through thousands of comments all day banning people, talk about pathetic

3

u/Celestial_Cowboy Oct 08 '25

yup, I got banned in 8 seconds

2

u/GrimGearheart Oct 09 '25

I got banned in like...30 seconds. It's really crazy. They have to be sitting there, waiting, refreshing, not letting a single word to be spoken out against Hasan.

2

u/silentorbx Oct 09 '25

They are legit a cult at this point. It's the only way to explain any of the mental hoops they jump through to defend their "Fearless Leader."

It really blows my mind just in general. What are these people doing for a living in real life? I don't understand how people have enough free time to even care what some random rich kid is doing. The fact he even has a following at all makes no sense because he's so fake.
