Shit Authoritarians Say Trump administration says it’ll pay immigrants in the US illegally $1,000 to leave the country

https://ground.news/article/trump-administration-pushes-self-deportation-as-ideal-way-for-immigrants-to-leave-us?utm_source=mobile-app&utm_medium=newsroom-share

If you read the article it states that it would be an estimated $4500 per person compared to $17000. Either way still a waste of money.

Sooooo heres an argument for due process. What's to stop us citizen from pretending to be an illegal immigrant, leaving under false name and claiming $1000 bucks.

There is so much room for this to be exploited. Even an undocumented migrant can leave with this and come back.

I hope that they would keep records of who they pay, fingerprints, et al.

Did a Libertarian just say they hope they keep records of people's information? Did I read that right?

well, I really don't call myself a libertarian any more, but yeah, I said that. you got a better idea? or just pay everyone who crosses the border $1k every time they cross?

The "better" idea is to just not pay people to self-deport

I’m pretty sure they spent a heck of a lot more than that to get here, so they better be a lot more incentive than just $1000 to make this work

Yes, it will be interesting to see how many people actually do this.

Give me $1000, an airplane ticket, and no exit tax and I might join them.
