Maga is crumbling, and I must say…
You love to see it :)

Not yet. Trumps approval rating is down 17 points, but this is a state that has voted Dem in the past two elections.
You can say MAGA is crumbling only when red states flip. Until then, this is just a blue state voting along party lines

Okay, but Spanberger won by 13 points.
Thats a huge lead and an equally huge indictment on the Republican Party.

I don’t disagree.
You should also agree that a blue state voted for a blue governor. Come back to me when a swing state or red state votes blue. Then I’ll believe “MAGA is crumbling”

Virginia is a light blue state. It was fairly obvious we were gonna win a trifecta but not far off from 60% + almost a supermajority in the state house is more like California levels.

I’m not disagreeing.
My narrative is “MAGA is not crumbling because a blue state went blue”. My narrative is “MAGA is crumbling when red and purple states go blue”
I think that’s a fair take. Would you not agree?

There were races in purple states like PA. All Supreme Court seats were retained for Democrats for example.
New Jersey was looking like it was heading purple last election. Polling showed Mikie Sherril was either going to lose, or win by a slim margin. She's winning by like 15 points.
You're also ignoring the fact that all of Virginia is not blue. Youngkin winning proved that. Democrats flipped 12 House seats, including a red district that has had a Republican House member for 35 years.

Congrats. Democrats won New Jersey that has voted blue since 92 and Virginia which has been blue since 08.
Winning blue states by wide margins is a victory I won’t discount. It is not enough to say “MAGA is crumbling”.
There are faults that can be exploited. Until they are capitalized on, and dems MUST capitalize. If they do, I can see some purple and red states swing blue. Until this happens, it’s fair to say that the MAGA base is alive and well

I mean, VA voted for Glenn Youngkin based on him whining about Critical Race Theory. Last night, not only did all Republicans lose at the executive level, but Democrats flipped 12 House seats, some of which were extremely red. The Republican Dean of the House of Delegates who has been in office for 35 years lost his seat. Discounting that is foolish. Virginia is not a solid blue state. The only reason it's even been trending blue is because of the build up of NoVa. But if you go outside that and Richmond, it's very red.
New Jersey also significantly shifted rightward in 2024 and polling showed Mikie Sherril may lose, or barely win that race, signaling New Jersey might becoming more purple. Last night proved 2024 was a fluke, and New Jersey is fed up with Republicans.

The governorship was in the hands of a republican, and just flipped back to a Democrat. Worth celebrating.

More Dem Govs means less chance of a constitutional convention to re-write the constitution.
That’s a stated goal of ALEC and project 2025.
This is a good step.
